Fox is developing the one-hour drama “The Miracle Department,” Variety has learned exclusively.
The official logline states, “Based on a real Catholic organization, ‘The Miracle Department’ is a heartfelt, comedic, hour-long series about a brilliant, but disgraced, former FBI agent who joins forces with a quirky task force to hunt for genuine miracles.”
Brendan McCarthy and Alex Kavallierou serve as writers and executive producers on the project. “Friends” co-creator Marta Kauffman will also executive produce via Okay Goodnight along with Robbie Rowe Tollin and Hannah K.S. Canter. Fox Entertainment Studios will produce.
The project marks a reunion for Kauffman, McCarthy, and Kavallierou. Kavallierou and McCarthy were previously writers on the Netflix series “Grace and Frankie,” which Kauffman co-created with Howard J. Morris. Kavallierou has also worked on shows like “Sullivan and Son” as well as “Rob Brydon: Live.”

Stating that the film ‘Family Album’ will help both parents and children to better understand each other, Uruguayan director Guillermo Rocamora shared that it is based on personal experiences.
During the screening of the film under the ‘Cinema of the World’ category at the 54th International Film Festival of India (Iffi) here, Rocamora shared his thoughts with the delegates during an interaction.
Speaking about how his personal experiences inspired in crafting the film, the director said, “It is about my family experience… After my parents got divorced, my 16-year-old brother had the brilliant idea to invite my father to play drums in his band. This story has been with me for many years and it became the genesis of this project and now a film has been made on it.”

After that first round of news, we have more info on the International Oscar race to share. First, we have three more official submissions for the upcoming race: Estonia will submit the documentary Smoke, Sauna, Sisterhood; South Korea has gone very mainstream choosing the earthquake drama Concrete Utopia (that probably means no nomination given that the Academy generally only pays attention to South Korea when they lean auteur... and even then they don't pay much attention despite South Korea having a very healthy and respected film industry); Finally, Uruguay will submit the comedy Family Album about a father and his teenage son forming a band.
Even if those three films don't sound right up Oscar's alley, you really never know, do you? It all depends on how the volunteer voters who screen enough of the films to vote respond to their selections. We also now know two...

Looks like Sue Sylvester will be picking on someone her own size — or at least in her own age group — during Glee‘s third season. When I spoke to exec producer Ryan Murphy in June, he noted that he was working on “an amazing 20-episode arc for Jane Lynch” that would partly focus on her character’s campaign for Congress, and now, TVLine has discovered that her political rival will also have ties to [Warning: Spoiler Ahead!] William McKinley High School.

The family album of the Jonas Brothers has been leaked. The set consists of several pictures of Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas, taken during their childhood years.
Wambie.com, which publishes the brothers' family album, doesn't give details on when the pictures are taken. It is simply written on the site, "You can see the personality of each one: Joe behind bangs, nice and sweet Nick, and Kevin who looks like a doll with those cheeks and frizzy hair!"
Aside from the family album, Jonas Brothers have given fans a peek on the behind-the-scenes fashion segment of their new smash hit "Lovebug", which is shot in the '40s set. In a footage aired in partnership with MySpace's "The Fit," Nick, Joe, and Kevin give details about the costumes they have to wear for the shooting of the music video that sees them transformed into 1940s studs.
