Manny's El Loco restaurant in West Covina, California was used for the filming location of the Good Burger restaurant. As of 2023, the restaurant is still in operation, although it now goes by the name Peter's El Loco restaurant.
The theatrical trailer featured a scene that did not quite make it to the film. It featured a Good Burger customer saying "Just give me a good shake" and then Ed reaching over the counter to shake him.
To promote the film, Nickelodeon created the "Good Burger, Good Premiere, Good Sweepstakes". In this contest, four grand prize winners won tickets to the film's premiere, US $1000, and a chance to meet stars Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. 100 first prize winners won a fabric hat with dreadlocks resembling those of the main character Ed's, and 500 second place winners won an exclusive copy of the film's soundtrack.
