In the same breath that it double-secret formally announced Season 2 of What If…?, Disney+ on Friday also unveiled its plans for two more animated Marvel series.
First up (and clearly taking a cue from the fifth episode of What If…?), Marvel Zombies is an animated series from Marvel Studios that “re-imagines the Marvel Universe as a new generation of heroes battle against an ever-spreading zombie scourge.” Bryan Andrews (What If…?, Men in Black: The Series) will direct.

Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers & Justin K. Thompson are directing the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Deadline has confirmed. The film is set to hit theaters on October 7, 2022.
While the team has been hard at work on the project from the outset, they have now officially come aboard, joining returning producers Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Christina Steinberg, and new co-producer Alonzo Ruvalcaba.
“The crew behind… Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse set such a ridiculously high bar, and we’re humbled to take on the challenge of charting the next chapter in the story of Miles Morales,” the directors said in a joint statement. “We can’t wait to surprise fans with the wild new adventure we’re sending Miles on with his friends, both old and new!”
“We are so lucky to have Joaquim, Justin and Kemp on the Spider-Verse team,” added writer-producers Lord and Miller.

It didn’t take long for Amazon to show that it’s really getting behind its original programming theory. It doesn’t seem that long since we were running through the pilots and filling out polls, but Amazon is already saying it wants to see more, and continue on this road.
Five more shows aimed at children will produce pilots in the hopes of getting a series green light, and like the last set of children’s programming, these look like they’ll be great shows. From massively prestigious pedigrees in the business to someone Amazon found through their open submission process, there’s a lot to look forward to here. Amazon Studios kids shows were the best part of the initial run of pilots for me, and I think they may be aiming to make a real push into the market with these additional titles.

If you grew up spending Saturday mornings with a bowl of cereal in your lap that would spill onto your pjs while you religiously watched shows like Batman: The Animated Series and Gargoyles, then we have a treat for you! Here's some great looking character art for an original new animated series, Ninjasauras Rex, which is being developed by Emmy Award winning director Frank Paur.
His credits include the aforementioned Batman: The Animated Series and Gargoyles, as well HBO's Spawn, X-Men: Evolution, Men In Black: The Series, Hulk Vs. Wolverine, and many more -- essentially, the man shaped and monopolized your childhood. Paur is developing Ninjasauras Rex with frequent collaborator Steven Meyer (The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes).
Here's a short synopsis:
Ninjasauras Rex is a 1/2 hour animated adventure/comedy series that follows the exploits of a Ninja Tyrannosaurus Rex and his teenage sidekick Asper in what at first looks to be Feudal Japan.

I hope you’ve had a chance to catch this terrific animated series on The Hub, now in its second season. Executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek, the Transformers feature films, Fringe), it received a 2011 Daytime Emmy for Background Design and Color Design, and nominations for writing, directing, music direction and composition, and Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for the legendary Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime – yes, the same man who gave his voice to Prime in the movies and video games.
So it looks great, it sounds great, and it has some good solid storylines. You’ll also recognize some of the other voice actors: Jeffrey Combs (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) as Ratchet, Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2) as Agent Fowler, and Markie Post (Murphy Brown) as Jack’s mom June, and recurring guest voices including Firefly castmates Adam Baldwin as Breakdown and Gina Torres as Airachnid.

In recent weeks, news came out that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be returning to the entertainment industry, but not quite the way everyone expected. It appeared that Schwarzenegger would be teaming with Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee to create a new superhero comic and TV series titled The Governator. It was then announced that in addition to the comic book and series, that a 3-D feature film was being put into production. But the question still remains… What can we expect from the project? Well that question has been answered with a trailer: Now, a lot of people will look at this three minute trailer and see many things. But what I see is a throw-back to a style of animation that many children (such as myself) came to know and love in the late nineties with series’ like Godzilla: The Series and Men In Black: The Series. If the final product is anything like this, then...
