Fresh off the release of A24’s critically acclaimed movie I Saw the TV Glow, director Jane Schoenbrun has announced their next project this morning. It’s a novel, and it’s coming soon.
Hogarth, an imprint of the Random House Publishing Group, will publish Public Access Afterworld, the debut novel by acclaimed writer and director Jane Schoenbrun, whose most recent film I Saw the TV Glow has received widespread acclaim and is in theaters now.
North American rights were acquired at auction by Hogarth editor in chief David Ebershoff from Bill Clegg of The Clegg Agency.

After directing just two features, the innovative creepypasta horror story “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair” and the acclaimed trans coming-of-age saga “I Saw the TV Glow,” Jane Schoenbrun has established themselves as a singular creative voice. And while all eyes in the indie film world are looking to see what they take on for their next directorial outing, Schoenbrun fans will soon have a chance to experience the auteur’s distinct world-building in a new format.
Hogarth Books, an imprint of Random House Publishing, has acquired the rights to “Public Access Afterworld,” Schoenbrun’s debut novel billed as the conclusion to a trilogy that began with their first two films.
“All of my work so far has been leading up to this,” Schoenbrun said in a statement. “‘Public Access Afterworld’ is the culmination of my so-called ‘screen trilogy’ that I began with ‘World’s Fair’ and ‘TV Glow.

Gwendoline Christie is always a formidable, striking presence on screen. Most recently, she starred alongside Jenna Ortega in Netflix's "Wednesday" as Larissa Weems, the principal of Nevermore Academy where Ortega's titular heroine goes to school. Before that, Christie appeared as Lucifer in the streamer's "The Sandman" series, which was renewed last fall. Fans, of course, first fell in love with her as the greatest knight in Westeros, Ser Brienne of Tarth, in "Game of Thrones," and she brought her sword-fighting skills to outer space for the Star Wars sequel trilogy, where she played Captain Phasma. And while her acting chops are top-notch, there's another reason Christie makes such an impact in everything she appears in: her incredibly tall height.
How tall is Christie? The 44-year-old actor clocks in at 6'3" (191 centimeters in the metric system). Her "Wednesday" costars really help emphasize her height, too: Ortega and Christina Ricci...

The Wheel Of Time returns this week with a new season and new characters, but if you’ve forgotten any of the important characters, don’t fret because we’ve got you covered. The high-fantasy show is adapted from Robert Jordan’s works and drifts quite far from the source material. For those of us who haven’t read the books, the show is quite entertaining and has a great dose of fantasy. The show first aired in the year for fantasy lovers! There was Dune, Sandman, The Witcher season 2, and more fantasy media dropping back in 2021. While we are still quite lucky in the realm of fantasy, people have high hopes for the second season in comparison to the first one because of the introduction of the new characters and the pandemic no longer being an obstacle for shooting. So, let’s quickly break down the search for the...

During the late 1950s, DC Comics struck gold with the release of a number of horror titles, notably House of Mystery and House of Horror. Both of these have since gained cult classic status thanks to the legendary creative teams spinning chilling narratives around beautiful blood-curling macabre panels—very in sync with the classic Hammer and Grindhouse horror movies. In later years, with restrictions imposed by the Cca (Comics Code Authority), the element of horror gradually waned in mainstream comics. It made a sporadic resurgence during the Bronze Age of comics during the late 1970s, and using their Vertigo imprint titles, DC managed to keep the dread alive, especially through The Hellblazer and Sandman titles. Therefore, in the post-Rebirth era, DC Comics’ creative team’s perceivable interest in rejuvenating the horror themes in even mainstream series like Detective Comics and DCeased must have elated horror fans like myself.

Considering the four year gap between seasons 1 and 2 of "Good Omens," it's easy to see why some fans are frustrated by the season 2 finale. After two seasons of slowly building up to a romance between its two leads, "Chapter 6: Every Day" chooses to split them apart, seemingly for good. Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) decides to take up the fancy new job as Archangel, and Crowley (David Tennant) refuses to go with him and reclaim his old status as an angel. It's a dark end to a season that otherwise seemed to be building up to a happy finale.
Luckily, Neil Gaiman and the other writers involved already have plans for a third season, one that'll presumably bring our two favorite supernatural beings back together. "Season 3 is all planned and plotted and, if I get to make it, will take the story to a satisfying end. If I wasn't on strike I'd be writing it currently,...

John Cameron Mitchell, who blazed onto the indie scene with the 2001 queer musical “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” hopes that the recent state legislation outlawing drag shows will soon be a thing of the past.
“I think it’s temporary because most young people realize it is absurd and eventually, the bigots die off,” Mitchell told TheWrap in a recent interview.
The Tony-winning actor, who costars in Apple TV+’s “City on Fire” and did musical turns on Netflix’s “Sandman” and a Season 2 episode of “Yellowjackets,” recently moved to New Orleans and spoke about a pending drag ban in Louisiana.

Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” is ubiquitous at sporting events around the world. For the Virginia Tech Hokies, it has become a universal rallying cry for their various athletic programs.
When the Hokies locked up the No. 1 seed in the women’s NCAA basketball tournament, they also garnered home-court advantage, hosting the first two rounds at their own Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg. However, the NCAA treats tournament games as if they’re at a neutral site in an effort to keep the on-campus contests as fair as possible. That means no “Enter Sandman,” or the university would face a fine.
Well, the Virginia Tech student body, aka the Cassell Guard, had other ideas. At the tipoff of the Hokies’ matchup against 16-seed Chattanooga on Friday, the crowd belted out “Enter Sandman” a cappella, impressively singing the song in chorus. They were still singing when Virginia Tech’s Georgia Amoore sunk the first 3-pointer of the game.

Before Randy Newman scored his most recent Oscar nods (for Toy Story 4 and Marriage Story), he won an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Music and Lyrics for the theme song to the short-lived Nineties series Cop Rock. The title? “Under the Gun,” of course.
The song features some truly Eighties-era production, as Newman, perched behind his keyboard, sings, “Days of sunshine, tears of rain/Precious memories of days gone by/Eyes of darkness, feel the pain/…Did what had to be done/living under the gun.”

Marvel fans already have the scoop on Spider-Man: Far From Home's most recognizable villain, Mysterio (played by Jake Gyllenhaal), but they might not be well-versed on the other danger threatening to interrupt Peter Parker's Summer vacation. Namely, the four known as the Elementals in Marvel Comics lore.
The Elementals are four immortal, extradimensional humanoids with power over natural forces: Hellfire, Hydron, Magnum, and Zephyr, each possessing power over fire, water, earth, and air, respectively. According to lore, they ruled a kingdom on Earth before the rise of Atlantis and were banished to another dimension when they tried to conquer Egypt. They eventually make their way back to modern Earth and frequently lock horns with Carol Danvers (which is a pretty interesting connection to the upcoming Captain Marvel film). The Elementals are seriously formidable foes with a bloodthirst that rivals most Marvel villains - though Thanos will always hold a special place in our hearts.

The first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home finally came our way this week and naturally, fans have already scrawled through it to find out everything they can about the upcoming second solo movie for Tom Holland’s wallcrawler.
The trailer itself gave us a good look at the Elementals, giant creatures rampaging through Europe that Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio will seemingly battle, leaving Spidey out of a job. Something Spider-Man lovers immediately noticed about the Elementals though is that they resemble a trio of Peter Parker’s most perennial foes from the comics. Namely, Sandman, Hydro-Man and Molten Man. It looks like fans’ instincts were right on the money as, on closer inspection, the trailer features easily-missed references to all three villains.

There have been a lot of questions surrounding The Elementals in Spider-Man: Far From Home. It initially seems like the villains consist of Sandman, Molten Man, and Hydro-Man, but that has yet to be officially confirmed.
However, there are three well-placed Easter eggs in the trailer for the film that might be the confirmation that we need. These were pointed out to me by a friend of mine, and I figured I’d share them with you and see what you all think.
So, let’s jump right into it!
On the boat behind Ned, you’ll see “Asm 212” on the side of it. This could refer to the comic book The Amazing Spider-Man #212, which is the issue where Morris Bench, a.k.a. Hydro-Man, made his debut.

Sony Pictures went about launching their Spider-Man cinematic universe in the worst possible way. After a decent beginning with The Amazing Spider-Man, they plunged into The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which was a mediocre movie weighed down with endless hooks for potential sequels.
So, we got a tease of Peter’s parents being involved in some shady government conspiracy, various plotlines going unresolved and the end credits showing us some pretty familiar villain equipment. But with the studio now developing a series of films based on Spidey villains like Venom and Morbius: The Living Vampire, could we see this project come back from the dead? Writer Drew Goddard certainly thinks so, saying the following in a recent...
