The crew from Hogwarts had a magical meet-up at Universal Studios! The "Harry Potter" cast reunited for a VIP and media preview of the new "Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley" at Universal Orlando on Wednesday. Among the characters present for the preview: Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright), Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch), Bill Weasley (Domhnall Gleeson), Neville Longbottom (Matthew Lewis), Fred and George Weasley (James and Oliver Phelps), Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane), Professor Flitwick (Warwick Davis), Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) and Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter). Beware the Dark Mark: Draco Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange are together again - on the red carpet, at least. Tom Felton and Helena Bonham Carter, who portrayed the villainous Death Eaters in the Harry Potter films, were among the stars who turned out for Wednesday night's VIP and media preview of the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley at Universal Orlando. "I almost wore my Dark Mark," Carter tells People of the Death Eaters' sinister symbol. "I got some [temporary] tattoos of it!" Felton, meanwhile, was basking in the cast reunion. It makes sense that the enduring and magical "Harry Potter" franchise would rank high on our Entertainer of the Year list (last year the cast made No. 1!) The books and movies have been entertaining people for over a decade.
With the release of the first book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" in 1997, author Jk Rowling spurred the imagination of millions with her fantastical world of witches and wizards, centering on one boy who survives...

The end of wizardry and witchcraft is soon upon us, ladies and gentlemen. In two days time, Harry Potter whips out its wand and tries to dazzle us with its magic one final time, before the Sorting Hat is hung up for good. And not to worry, readers, these dreadful Potter Puns are not going to get any better.
Not even a little bit.
So, let’s turn Hermione’s Time-Turner back ten years as we go on a little voyage (we’ll ride broomsticks) through the bespectacled wizard’s tumbling journey through the world of cinema!
Arriving just as the Harry Potter book craze was lifting off, the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s first novel The Philospher’s Stone started what would quickly become one of the biggest movie franchises of all time. As the naïve child faces of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson beamed with...

Sensational, satisfying, surreal ... an explosive final chapter puts the magic back into the Harry Potter franchise. Warning: Contains Spoilers
"It all ends," says the poster slogan. A potentially grim statement of the obvious, of course, yet the Potter saga could hardly have ended on a better note. With one miraculous flourish of its wand, the franchise has restored the essential magic to the Potter legend – which had been starting to sag and drift in recent movies – zapping us all with a cracking final chapter, which looks far superior to Cs Lewis's The Last Battle or Jrr Tolkien's The Return of the King. It's dramatically satisfying, spectacular and terrifically exciting, easily justifying the decision to split the last book into two.
Here is where the Harry Potter series gets its groove back, with a final confrontation between Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) and our young hero, and with the sensational revelation of Harry's destiny,...

4.00pm: It all ends. Finally. After what feels like just 500 short years, the Harry Potter film franchise tonight comes to a finish. Or at least starts the beginning of that finish - the world premiere in London being only the first of many before the actual opening date (next week). And then there's the DVD and Blu-ray etc, so actually it'll be 2013-ish before we can stop hearing about the boy wizard.
But anyway, for the next three hours join us as we watch a live video stream of the festivities in Trafalgar Square, where the cast and crew will...

[1] Last week, we showed you two new posters for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 -- one featuring a roughed-up Harry [2] and another showing a concerned-looking Hermione [3]. Since then, Warner Bros. has released five more character posters, for Ron (Rupert Grint), Neville (Matthew Lewis), Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), Draco (Tom Felton) and Snape (Alan Rickman). Check out the images after the jump. [gallery columns="2" exclude="104858"] For some reason, the Gryffindors are all covered in dirt and blood, while the Slytherins look totally pristine. Is Warner Bros. trying to get us to equate cleanliness with evil ambition? The studio's been releasing the posters on their Facebook page [4] (via FirstShowing [5]) over the past week or so, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more in the coming days -- major characters who've yet to get posters include Ginny (Bonnie Wright) and Luna (Evanna Lynch). The eight and final entry in the Harry Potter film series,...

Toby Young, a blogger over at Telegraph.co.uk, unfairly critized J.K. Rowling for the success of Harry Potter. He claims that J.K. Rowling's books are second-rate and that she doen't deserve to be a billionaire as a result. In fact, in his title, he calls it "a thoroughly undeserved honour." Rarely would I find myself railing over someone else's opinion, but this is just too low and too offensive to be ignored. I attempted to respond to his criticism in a comment on the Telegraph website, but after three unsuccessful attempts at receiving an email confirmation, it occurred to me to just use our own platform to express my opinion. And to that end, this is what I have to say... First, I'd like to address the question of "entitlement." Who deserves to be a billionaire? I'm fairly certain that just about everyone will agree with my answer:...
