We just received some very cool photographs of the grisly crime scene in Atrocious, the found footage chiller playing at this year's Slamdance, which is being described by some as "the Spanish Paranormal Activity". Check out the full images after the jump. Here's a synopsis of the film... "In April of 2010, the Quintanilla family was found murdered in their summer home. Brother and sister Christian and July Quintanilla were investigating a terrifying local urban legend, leading to strange occurrences culminating in unspeakable atrocities. Police reported the existence of 37 hours of recorded evidence; 'Atrocious' reveals this never-before-released footage to the...

The actors who portray Brother and Sister on the hit horror series 'Dexter' have filed for divorce according to EW. After almost two years of marriage, Dexter stars Michael C. Hall, 39, and Jennifer Carpenter, 31, are divorcing and representatives released the following statement to EW, “Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce.”
The breakup has been cited from both camps as being amicable. The couple — who met on the set of the Showtime drama 'Dexter', in which she plays his foster sister — married on December 31, 2008. Hall completed treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma earlier this year.
For some reason that marriage always seemed a tad strange, at least for fans of the show. For more details visit EW.com.

Alicia Keys has become a mother to a newborn baby boy named Egypt Daoud Dean. The happy news has been confirmed by her representative, who detailed that the 29-year-old R&B singer has given birth to her first child with music producer husband Swizz Beatz in New York City on Thursday night, October 14.
Media Take Out reported that the Jay-z's collaborator in "Empire State of Mind" checked herself into New York's St-Luke's Roosevelt hospital. The site also noted that the singer, who once took a tumble while performing on stage during her pregnancy, is "holed up in a special 'celebrity' section of the maternity ward reserved for VIPs."
32-year-old Swizz, who tied the knot with Alicia in a private ceremony on the Mediterranean Sea back in July, couldn't contain his happiness in welcoming another son into this world. Using his Twitter account, he expressed his gratitude by writing, "I'm so...

Art collector Demi Moore is set to cash in on her hobby - she's auctioning off two 19th century paintings, estimated to fetch up to $1.7 million. The Hollywood actress is selling an oil painting by William Bouguereau, titled "Frere et Soeur" ("Brother and Sister"), and another piece by Belgian artist Alfred Stevens, called "Mere et Ses Enfants" ("Mother and Her Children").
Moore bought both paintings in 1995, paying $178,500 for the Bouguereau piece and $200,500 for Stevens' work. However, the recent renewed interest in the Frenchman's work has sent the price of the 1887 painting soaring, and it is expected to go under the hammer for up to $1.5 million when it is sold off at Sotheby's in New York on November 4.
Moore admits she still loves the two masterpieces but feels the need to sell because they no longer suit "the renovation and new direction our home is taking," adding, "It is time for a change.

Chicago – The 2010 Chicago International Film Festival kicked off it’s 46th year with a preview party last night at the Lucky Strike Lounge, next to the location where all the films will be shown, AMC River East 21 on Illinois Street. Founder and Artistic Director Michael Kutza introduced staff members who highlighted the various cinema categories offered by the festival, and then presented a roster of notable films to be shown.
Also premiering was the highly anticipated annual trailer of the Chicago International Film Festival, again narrated by the legendary vocal artist Ken Nordine. Brother and sister act Same Difference have admitted that X Factor bosses forced them to mime, when they returned to perform their single on the show.
Sarah and Sean Smith competed in the 2007 series and finished third behind Leon Jackson and Rhydian Roberts. In 2008 they returned to the ITV show and performed their track “We R One.”
However, they have revealed that despite being desperate to sing live, producers told them that they could either lip synch, or not perform at all.
Sarah told The Sun: “We sang live from the beginning on The X Factor. But when we came back on to perform our first single we were told we had to mime.
“Because we’d got a lot of stick from people saying we couldn’t sing we really wanted to prove ourselves.

Often referred to as the South American Woody Allen, Daniel Burman usually directs talkative dramedies of the Jewish experience in exile. Brother and Sister is a change of pacing for the director, apart from one "Lechaim!" scene, there's no trace of Judaism in the film adaptation of Diego Dubcovsky's novel, which basically tells the story of an elderly pair of siblings via the point of view of Susana (Graciela Borges), the bossy one who gets around, and Marcos (Antonio Gasalla), the quiet greyish man, who hands over the control to his sister. - Often referred to as the South American Woody Allen, Daniel Burman usually directs talkative dramedies of the Jewish experience in exile. There isn't much character development, and suffice to say that a lot of “non-events” that occur in this film. Burman has always had an ear for dialogue, so most of this film flows pleasantly, but the parting taste that one keeps from the film is that this is tasty like a Junior Mint – nice, refreshing but unnutritious.

In the Main Comp, there's a new film by Daniel Burman, often referred to as "Woody Allen from Argentina". Brother and Sister appears to continue the regular Burman thread of light, talkative dramas. There is also a new film by Jan Sverak, who is best known for his Oscar-winning Kolya. Sverak's Kooky seems to be a live-action version of Pixar's Toy Story. - 70 is the new 45. As of today, the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is in it's 45th edition, that number would significantly be higher if the communist regime hadn't insisted on holding a film festival alternately in two locations: one year the fest was held in mother Russia, with the following year it took place in Czechoslovakia. DreamWorks Animation has licensed the movie rights to the troll doll from the Danish company Dam Things with the intention of turning the jewel-encrusted, afro-wearing toys into movie magic. Brother and sister duo Adam Wilson and Melanie Wilson Labracio will write the screenplay.
The doll was originally created in 1959 by Danish fisherman Thomas Dam who carved the character for his daughter for the holidays. But a loophole in his copyright claim allowed numerous knock-offs in Europe and the United States to gain popularity. Dam later reclaimed ownership after a Congressional law restored his rights.
The announcement seems suspicious considering their cartoon rival, Pixar, recently released Toy Story 3 to overwhelmingly positive reviews and success which coincidentally (?) included Troll dolls.
This isn’t the first time DreamWorks Animation has produced seemingly similar material. 1998 saw the head-to-head battle of Pixar’s Bug’s Life versus DreamWorks’ Antz. Pixar’s Finding Nemo played...

Like our Casting Couch, Production Notes sort of compiles the interesting developments and deals being made on the production end in Hollywood. This post will sort of report on the interesting books heading to film, directors we like that set-up projects and other stuff.
>> In this edition of Production Notes, Jason Reitman has set-up rights for the book Elliot Allagash by Simon Rich. Rich (a writer for NBC’s Saturday Night Live) is going to adapt his own book into a screenplay. Reitman will produce this project, but hasn’t decided whether he will direct it. Allagash revolves around private schools and the excesses of the rich, it centers on Seymour Herson, a boy who is regularly picked on at his private school. He gets taken under the wing of Elliot Allagash, a teen who is often drunk and enjoys villainy. Random House published Elliot Allagash this past month in May.

DreamWorks Animation just had to get their hands on some kind of toy property because all the other studios have got one or more to turn into feature film franchises. I guess they were feeling a little left out, and a little behind the hot Hollywood trend. Now the only toy that's left for them is the Good Luck Trolls. You remember those don't you? The little plastic troll dolls with annoying frizzy pastel-colored hair. I hated those damn things.
Well, DreamWorks Animation is teaming up with Denmark's Dam Things, which controls the troll toy line, so that they can develop a full on feature animated film based on these troll dolls.
Why would they want to make a movie based on these Good Luck Trolls!? I think it's a terrible idea, one that will most likely blow up their faces. They were doing fine with the original content they were putting out!

The Wachowski Brothers, best known for The Matrix movies and the Speed Racer debacle, and who are now actually the Wachowski Brother and Sister, Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski (formerly Larry), have been shopping around a screenplay about a gay love story set in the Iraq War. The Wachowskis had previously made another movie featuring gay characters, the crime thriller Bound (1996), their directorial debut, starring Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly as lesbian criminal lovers. According to reports — the original source was Deadline.com — the project will be rated R and it’ll be shot “cinema verite-style,” set in the not-too-distant future with some sci-fi elements to it, while featuring the ongoing Iraq War catastrophe as a flashback. If, by chance, you happen to read something Thursday (April 1) about Led Zeppelin reuniting or Jim Morrison coming out of hiding, don't believe it. As you're probably aware, it's April Fools' Day, and these kinds of things have a way of happening. Why, on this very day last year, Kid Rock announced he had acquired the naming rights to the Detroit Tigers' stadium, and Coldplay declared they were recording their next album in zero gravity.
Of course, none of it ended up being true, and both acts added their names to the ever-growing list of some of music's greatest tricksters. It seems that bands have been at this kind of thing for decades now, so we figured that now was as good...

Though Stephen Colbert has warned us of the unrivaled threat bears pose to civilization, those of us who grew up with a certain bear family know that they are actually wholesome, loving and full of great lessons to teach children. I'm speaking of none other than the almost-50-year old family, The Berenstain Bears. The beloved book series, spawned in 1962, has taught generations of children not only to read, but about various life lessons and facts. Now USA Today reports that Walden Media and director Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) will bring the bears to life in a comedy blending live-action and computer animation. Levy will certainly have plenty to pull from as The Berenstain Bears library has over 200 titles to choose from for inspiration. The average story dealt with the parental exploits of the aptly named Mama and Papa Bear as they taught their children, Brother and Sister Bear,...

With the first "Berenstain Bears" book being published in the 1960s, many of us grew up on the adventures of Ma, Pa, Brother and Sister (my personal fave was "Learn About Strangers," which appropriately creeped me out for weeks). But never in my wildest imagination did I think they'd be getting the live-action movie treatment. Shawn Levy (Night At The Museum) has signed on to direct The Berenstain Bears for Walden Media that will have the bears of Bear Country finally...

I told you all awhile back that I was a huge fan of the Jon & Kate Plus 8 tv show and that me and my lovely lady friend enjoyed watching it each and every single week. The family dynamic and the cute kids and their antics was a draw for me and I consider myself far from a fan of these sorts of reality shows. I quickly lost interest in the show when it became known from her Brother and Sister in Law that the whole marriage was a sham. Since then I could not stomach watching it as it was no longer a show about family dynamic as it began striking me as a paycheck. Just this week my lad...
