A good movie
One of the most popular songs 'Rasme Ulfat' sung by Lata Mangeskar, pulled me over to see this movie and I was not disappointed, because it also had another good duet'Apne suron mein mere suron ko basalo' sung by Manna Dey and Lata Mangeshkar with very melodius music of Madan Mohan. It also had other classical songs but they did not have in them the inherent strength for one to remember. It was a traditional movie with story of romance between two individuals of different religions. Both the actors Rehana Sultan & Rakesh Pandey were from 'Film and Television Institute of India', Pune played their part well and looked awesome. The picture was clean and simple with good dialogues but sometimes seemed to be slow. Anwar Ali (Mehmood's brother) played a comic role but it lacked punch. There was scope of good outdoor songs in scenic locales, it had only one of them. If there was another good song, this movie would have pulled up. The movie is worth seeing for the song 'Rasme Ulfat', Rehana Sultan, Rakesh Pandey and the message of the story in that order. Sulochana although a very good actor but somehow was not convincing as a Muslim Mother, neither their home, however the movie is still worth seeing.
