Taylor Sheridan may have earned his name as one of the best writers cum filmmakers of all time, but unfortunately for him, he hasn’t always sported the privilege of getting his work to remain natural and up to his choices, undeterred by others’ opinions. For instance, one of his most personal works had to face a serious change because of the same, as opposed to his wishes.

This work was his fan-favorite and critically appreciated blockbuster Western/crime from 2016, Hell or High Water, and the major change it had to go through was related to the title Sheridan had originally decided for it. However, the mastermind had to agree to change it, all because of a tussle with a marketing executive who didn’t find his version of the name appealing enough.

Writing, acting, directing; Taylor Sheridan is known for many things and how. The cowboy whisperer of Hollywood, the man is responsible for some incredible work including Sicario, Wind River, and of course, the Yellowstone franchise which has everyone and then some hooked to it. Clearly, he knows how to tell raw and intense stories all while delivering something new each time.
Wind River (2017) | Thunder Road Pictures
The 2016 film, Hell or High Water, is a great example of Taylor Sheridan’s incredible mind. the neo-Western crime drama focuses on two brothers carrying out a series of bank robberies in order to save their family ranch. Hell or High Water is extremely personal to Taylor Sheridan, even though it is not autobiographical. But did you know that the film was not supposed to be of the neo-western genre and this was just a happy accident?

This Demon Slayer review contains spoilers.
“Don’t bother with me. You’re just wasting your time.”
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, despite its action-packed focus, has always been an incredibly emotional series. Inner demons have just as much power over the heroes as the literal ones who threaten their lives. Demon Slayer’s “Hashira Training Arc” season focuses on all-out Demon and Hashira warfare. This means that the Demon Slayer Corps. need all the help that they can get, including cooperation from their most passive members, like Giyu Tomioka.
“Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka’s Pain” is all about dealing with one’s past trauma, the acceptance of guilt and loss, and learning how to move on and transform this pain into productive energy. This is a lesson that Tanjiro has had to learn several times over – most recently through the loss of Kyojuro Rengoku – but it proves to...

Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc has only just begun, and it is already setting the stage for an otherwise emotional and gut-wrenching journey ahead. While the first episode wasn’t the best of what the show and Ufotable have offered before, it certainly wasn’t a weak start. Comparing that to the latest episode, things get serious firsthand.
Sabito | Credit: Ufotable
This season is taking nothing too lightly, and it clearly shows. With all the Hashira busy training the Demon Slayer Corps and improving themselves, the task falls on Tanjiro’s shoulders to convince Giyu to also take part in it. As seen in the previous episode, the reason for his absence was then kept a mystery. Starting right where they left off, season 4 episode 2, Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka’s Pain is an emotional rollercoaster.

The Drake-Kendrick Lamar showdown will continue — at the 2024 BET Awards.
The rappers will compete in two categories at the June 30 show: best male hip-hop artist and best collaboration. In the latter category, Drake is nominated for “Rich Baby Daddy” with Sza and Sexyy Red, while Lamar is nominated for his guest verse on the remix of Beyoncé’s “America Has a Problem.”
Drake is the show’s top contender with seven nominations, thanks to his album For All the Dogs (Scary Hours Edition). Lamar didn’t release an album that was eligible this year. The Canadian rapper’s other nominations include album of the year, best male R&b/pop artist and viewer’s choice for “Rich Baby Daddy.” He’s nominated twice in the video of the year category: “Rich Baby Daddy” and his guest verse on J. Cole’s “First Person Shooter,” the late 2023 track that reignited his feud with Lamar.

Sophomore slump? Not for Saint Laurent Productions.
One year after a high-profile splash with its debut film project — Pedro Almodóvar’s gay cowboy Western Strange Way of Life — the luxury house’s production division returns to the Cannes Film Festival with three starry films in the main competition: Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Perez, David Cronenberg’s The Shrouds and Paolo Sorrentino’s Parthenope.
Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello is credited as a producer on the pics, and he and his team delivered cast wardrobes. Emilia Perez stars Zoe Saldaña, Selena Gomez and Édgar Ramírez in the story of a lawyer who receives an unexpected offer to help a feared cartel boss disappear by becoming the woman he’s always dreamed of being.

“Water” singer Tyla arrived in sand for her first-ever Met Gala red carpet.
Working with stylist Katie Qian, the South African singer wore a custom sculpted Balmain gown that represented “the sands of time,” she told La La Anthony on the red carpet. “We really wanted something out of the box for this year, it’s my first time at the Met.”
The Grammy-winning artist paired her Dune-esque dress with water-inspired jewelry by John Hardy, including yellow gold earrings with aquamarine, yellow diamond and blue topaz; and two yellow gold pave rings. She accessorized a simple gold necklace and an oversized hourglass clutch, while her beauty look featured a cat eyeliner and a dusting of sand on her left shoulder. Her nails featured 3D chain embellishments that mimicked dripping sand.
“It feels amazing, I’m so excited to go inside and see all of the pictures, then go home.

Gold Rush: White Water Season 8 premiered in March and Discovery Channel fans watched the team work in dangerous conditions, but do they get paid? If they find gold, that’s great, but do they draw salaries or earnings per episode if they don’t hit the jackpot? Read on to find out.
Gold Rush White Water Crew Changed
Over the years, the core team changed a bit. For example, in 2023, Discovery Channel fans found out that Kayla Johanson left. For her, there was just way too much drama and not enough gold. So, she quit and went to make her way on YouTube and with jewelry creation. Does that mean that filming hurt her pocket? Of course, that makes viewers wonder about the rest of the crew getting paid.

Netflix has unveiled nine new movies and series from Poland including the directorial debut of High Water writer Kasper Bajon and a thriller from the team behind Forgotten Love.
As the streamer continues to unveil international originals by the bucket load, Project UFO leads the Poland slate, a mini-series helmed by Bajon that will transport fans of stories inspired by real events to the 1980s in order to investigate the alleged UFO landing in a remote countryside village.

Babehoven’s Water’s Here in You begins with singer Maya Bon on bended knee, hands outstretched. “I forgive you,” she sings atop cascading harmonies and persistent guitar strums, extending an olive branch to an estranged family member who has fallen ill. The track, “Birdseye,” is a sobering meditation on reconciliation and repentance, a nod to the fragility of life, and the thesis statement of the Hudson Valley duo’s latest album.

The legendary late Mangaka Akira Toriyama sensei may have given birth to one of the most tremendous phenomena in the manga and anime industry, i.e. the Dragon Ball universe, but even he couldn’t help but agree with one criticism about it. This criticism was on none other than the ultimate “perfect warrior” creation of Dr. Gero in the saga, Cell.

To be more precise, this critical complaint and objection was not on the character, but rather, on one of his forms that fans somewhat grew to hate. And surprisingly enough, even Toriyama sensei once admitted how much he himself disliked and found to be uncool this very iteration of the main antagonist of the overarching Cell Saga in the Db universe!

The first live coast-to-coast episode of “American Idol” Season 22 aired on Sunday, April 21 on ABC, with the Top 14 contestants performing in front of host Ryan Seacrest, judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, and guest mentor Gene Simmons. Viewers all across the nation voted 19.9 million times throughout the two-hour episode, which had a theme of “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” and the Top 12 artists made it to the next round. In the end, the two singers who were eliminated were Nya and Jordan Anthony.
Throughout the competition, Nya sang tunes like “Wait a Minute!” (Auditions round), “Get Ready” (Showstopper round), “The Best” (Top 24 round), “Georgia on My Mind”, “Water” and “I Say a Little Prayer” (Top 14 round). The 28-year-old Broadway performer from Manhattan, New York was an early favorite on the show, but the judges had to save her last week when she placed in the bottom — never a good sign.

It seems like the only way for Mangaka Sui Ishida, after working on his superhit manga series Tokyo Ghoul, is up and waaay above others’ expectations, considering how his most recent work is gaining the same acclamation. In fact, after Ken Kaneki’s blockbuster saga from the early 2010s, fans are all set to explore this new work of the mangaka fairly soon.

With Aladdin producer Dan Lin taking over film leadership at Netflix from Scott Stuber, there will still be a commitment to a robust feature slate. Such were the statements from the streamer’s co-ceo on Thursday during the company’s call to discuss its Q1 earnings report.
Fielding a question from analyst Richard Greenfield about a New York Times report that characterized Lin’s mandate was to make movies at Netflix “better, cheaper and less frequent” and how such a formula is possible, Netflix’s Ted Sarandos responded, “We did not participate in that article.”
Sarandos added, “That’s not a quote from Dan.”
“There’s no appetite to make fewer films,” said Sarandos, whose company release some 50 original features last year alone, with some previous-year tentpoles costing the studio north of $200 million including the Russo Brothers’ The Gray Man, and prestige pics like Noah Baumbach’s White Noise as much as $140M.

The One Piece manga recently saw the defeat of Rob Lucci, one of the strongest antagonists of the series, at the hands of Roronoa Zoro. Although Lucci was incredibly strong, he could not hold himself in front of the Straw Hat Pirates swordsman. Lucci has come a long way from the Water 7 arc and his character growth over the years makes him one of the best villains of One Piece. And his Devil Fruit abilities certainly add to this title.
Rob Lucci – One Piece
Rob Lucci shocked the One Piece fandom when he introduced the awakened form of his Devil Fruit in his first fight in the Egghead Island arc. His awakened form was first revealed in One Piece Chapter 1069 when he was fighting Luffy and while it did not have a chance against Luffy’s Gear 5, it was extremely powerful making it one of the best Zoan Devil Fruits in the One Piece world.

One Piece live-action fans have been waiting for quite a while to get a new update regarding the release of the second season. The series lived up to the name of Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus with season one becoming the first-ever successful live-action adaptation of an anime or manga series.
Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece Live-Action
The main essence that helped One Piece live-action gain success was the ability to replicate the scenes from the One Piece anime and manga series that would have been pretty difficult to recreate in the real world. Be it the Mihawk vs Zoro fight or the Luffy vs Arlong battle, One Piece fans were happy that the series did justice to these iconic scenes.
Recently, the cast of One Piece live-action attended the Weebcon 2024 where they were asked a bunch of questions about the future of Netflix’s One Piece. While answering one of the questions,...

This article contains massive spoilers for Dune: Part Two.
Author and producer Brian Herbert is no stranger to the world of Dune. As the son of Frank Herbert, the visionary writer who published the first Dune novel in 1965, Brian saw firsthand his father create the mythology of Arrakis and the legend of the Kwisatz Haderach. He also would go on to add to that mythology, with Brian co-writing numerous Dune novels of his own. So it should not be taken lightly when he praised this past week the completion of Denis Villeneuve’s two-part Dune adaptation.
“I saw Dune: Part Two at a private studio screening,” Brian Herbert wrote on social media, “and it is gratifying to see my father’s story told with such great care. When the new movie is combined with Dune: Part One it is by far the best film interpretation of Frank Herbert’s classic...

The PG-13 rating, at least for horror, often induces derision or skepticism, like an instant shackle on the horror. A PG-13 rating broadcasts straightaway not to expect any excessive gore, violence, or any of the explicit fun stuff that tends to be horror’s bread and butter. But those things aren’t synonymous with horror’s true aim, which is to scare you silly.
Luckily, PG-13 horror has proven time and time again throughout the decades that it’s more than capable of inducing chills. Especially when it comes to the supernatural.
This week’s streaming picks are dedicated to PG-13 horror movies that bring the terror through ghostly jump scares, ominous atmosphere, and more. That the PG-13 rating means they also double as potential gateway horror for the budding monster kid is a bonus.
Here’s where you can stream them this week.

Whatever it was, it’s done, and we can’t take it back (the delete key is broken). It is kind of strange that there are so many blue movie characters. If we wanted to do, say, Best Red Characters in Movies, it would just be five pictures of Hellboy and five pictures of Darth Maul.
