During the series, the frenemies Vana and Nana learn that Vana's divorced mother is dating Nana's single father. They realize that they may become stepsisters to each other.
The series covers a complex relationship of both friendship and enmity between two married couples. During the series, all four of the married protagonists have extramarital affairs and have other love interests, but they never express any interest in a divorce. The last two episodes indicate that they have become too attached to their spouse to end their respective marriages, despite frequent friction in their relationships.
That Dionysis is a crooked lawyer is a recurring element of the series, but the nature of his activities is described differently in various episodes. In some episodes, he defiantly describes the nature of his job as exonerating guilty clients, and that he does not intend to ever stop. In some episodes, Diomysis has close ties to organized crime figures. In some episodes, he supposedly only wins trials because he has blackmail material on the judges and the district attorneys.
Dionysis was born in poverty, the result of a one-night-stand between a female singer and a drag queen. A subplot of the series is that he had a rags-to-riches story that turned him into a highly successful lawyer, but only by abandoning any sense of morality.
