Yulin Kuang knows she hit the literary jackpot.
The writer-director, whose credits include The CW’s I Ship It, Hulu’s Dollface and Netflix’s The Healing Powers of Dude, is adapting Emily Henry’s People We Meet On Vacation for film and writing-directing the forthcoming Beach Read film for 20th Century Studios. Henry has became a household name in the world of romance, with devoted fans eager to see how her love stories translate onscreen — even going so far as to share dream casting choices, trying to find Easter egg clues that would tease anything of what’s to come and stoking rumors about a potential Paul Mescal and Ayo Edebiri casting thanks to a photo Henry shared on social media.
While it can be assumed adapting those stories might come with added pressure, Kuang understands fans’ anxiety over whether the adaptations will be up to par.

Since its launch, Helldivers 2 has been increasing and maintaining its concurrent player count at a stable rate. People are eager to jump into the fray against Terminids and Automatons in a bid to expand Super Earth’s dominion in the cosmos. However, that doesn’t mean the game is a perfect experience.
Glitches and bugs are common for most games, especially when it comes to live-service multiplayer titles. While the developers at Arrowhead are committed to fixing issues that crop up, the endeavor may result in some broken promises.

Helldivers 2, the co-op third-person shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios, is the most surprising but deserving hit of 2024. The game is the direct sequel to the top-down shooter Helldivers, which was released back in 2015. The game has broken several records since its release in February.
The game has been praised by both fans and critics as they fight for democracy against the Automatons and Terminids. But this fun co-op game probably would not have existed if it wasn’t for the Mario developer Nintendo, as it was an inspiration for Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt.

Helldivers 2 has been the biggest and most deserving hit of 2024 so far. The game has received rave reviews from fans and critics alike and has managed to sell more than 8 million copies in just over a month since its release. The game has recently received its new Cutting Edge premium Warbond with brand-new weapons, gear, and armor. There have also been rumors about the game collaborating with Starship Troopers and Destiny. The CEO of developer Arrowhead, Johan Pilestedt, has now teased another collaboration that could be a big one for the co-op shooter.

Helldivers 2 can lead to a change of heart in a man, and the community recently witnessed it. Interestingly, it was the man who stood by his decisions, no matter how vague they were. Dr DisRespect is a YouTuber and a debarred Twitch streamer who also happens to have his own gaming studio that is developing a game that he believes will blow away Call of Duty.
After not being able to withstand the view of Helldivers 2 even for a couple of minutes, Mr. Guy Beahm finally agreed to give the game a shot. Surprisingly (actually not), he loved the game, as can be seen in his YouTube stream.

Cutting Edge Group, the largest independent film music publisher, is expanding its role in the financing of indie films, advancing funds for music rights in the pictures. The latest is a just closed deal for the Bart Freundlich-directed drama After The Wedding, starring Michelle Williams and Julianne Moore.
Cutting Edge has its name on no fewer than eight films that played at the Toronto Film Festival last week. The company pre-bought music rights to Donnybrook, A Private War, The Old Man & The Gun, Vita & Virginia, Hotel Mumbai, What They Had, Where Hands Touch, and Jeremiah Terminator LeRoy.
Cutting Edge’s business model allows it to invest in the music rights as part of the financial close of the film and then oversees all aspects of the music for the production. Well, that was a PPV. It took place on a Sunday and was available on the WWE Network, so it clearly was a PPV. But beyond that, you really couldn’t tell the difference. Fastlane crowned a new #1 contender who will go on to face Triple H at WrestleMania Xxxii, but if you didn’t know who that would be a month ago, then you probably believe your uncle really does pull coins from behind your ear.
Aside from Roman Reigns’ unstoppable march to Mania, there really weren’t any major developments to come out of Fastlane. No one stabbed anyone in the back. No new stars debuted to challenge longtime title-holders. No titles changed hands. No WrestleMania matchups came into clearer focus (aside from the afore-mentioned main event). It really was the definition of a placeholder PPV.

When the former correspondent for Time and Newsweek finally brought himself to dredge them out, he realised he had a film on his hands.

The DJ Awards in Ibiza just celebrated its 18th edition, and even though DJ Mag holds down the fort when it comes to rankings of all things Edm, fans of dance music’s more sophisticated side might rejoice in some of the former awards ceremony’s selections.
That said, before you tear apart this claim in the comments section (I know you were going to), bear in mind that Hardwell does have not one, but two entries on this list – namely in the International DJ and Progressive House/Electro categories. Oh, and there’s an “Electronica” category, because apparently we’re still in the year 2000.
Aside from that, though, respectable outfits like Carl Cox, Hot Since 82, Luciano, and Solomun grace the other entries, and the “Special Awards” heading features an interesting collection of innovators and organizations behind the curtain.

Dinosaurs are a woefully underused trope in the video game industry. Sure, we had the Turok series for a while in the late 90s, coupled with Primal Rage and Dino Crisis, but it’s about time the prehistoric predators come back with a bang. We can only put up with zombies for so long, after all. Killzone developer Guerrilla Games is hoping to do just that and more with all-new IP Horizon: Zero Dawn,
Featuring towering, mechanized dinosaurs, Guerrilla’s latest wowed the PlayStation faithful during Sony’s E3 presser yesterday evening, promising a beautiful open-world within which players can train and hunt the cyborg beasts. What makes Zero Dawn so special, though, is its intriguing set-up. Relegating humanity back to the caves, the PS4 exclusive will see mankind scavenging for resources in the far future, one where nature has completely reclaimed the once-powerful cityscapes that dominated the skyline.

This Sunday, April 12, HBO’s Silicon Valley, which was easily one of the best new shows to debut on TV last year, returns for its highly anticipated second season, and after watching the first three episodes of Season 2, I can confirm that the series is just as crude, compelling, and hilarious as it was in Season 1. One of the new characters in Silicon Valley Season 2 that helps bring those laughs is Laurie Bream, the managing partner at Raviga Capital, who takes over for Peter Gregory (played by the late, great Christopher Evan Welch). Earlier this week, I got the chance to speak with Laurie’s portrayer, Suzanne Cryer, who previewed her character’s role in Season 2, teased some very funny moments to come, and addressed the one major issue that some critics had with Silicon Valley last season: its lack of female characters. Toronto, Ontario. It's mid-November on the Toronto set of Fxx's "Man Seeking Woman" and a strange "Cutting Edge" reenactment (kinda) is taking place. Series star Jay Baruchel, writer of one of the finest hockey movies ever made, is flopping around the ice at the Weston Lions Arena making a fool of himself. In this episode's piece of heightened reality, Baruchel's Josh has been invited to accompany sister Liz and her boyfriend on a dancing evening, only to discover that the dancing is ice dancing and it's competitive ice dancing. As Liz and Leo shine on the rink, executing flips and synchronized moves, Josh flops and flounders to Hall & Oates' "You Make My Dreams Come True," slamming into the boards and crawling desperately across the ice. [No, Baruchel doesn't play the hockey player in "Goon." And yes, this ice dancing isn't likely to play an ongoing part of the "Man Seeking Woman" continuity. So yes, it's only barely like the hockey-to-figure skating transformation in "Cutting Edge." But I'm sticking to the comparison.] At the end of each take,...

Producer Bec Dakin realises that aiming to raise up to $150,000 via crowdfunding for a $3 million comedy adapted from a John Birmingham novel is a very tall order, but that.s not the point.
