Jackie Chan is hailed as one of the biggest action stars in cinema. The Drunken Master fame has gained prominence for his action feats in both the Hollywood and Hong Kong film industries. But an anecdote proves that Chan is also as cool as any mainstream fictional superhero.
Actor Jason Isaacs claimed in a talk show that Jackie Chan caught a fly bare-handed, not once but twice.

Jackie Chan is one of the most renowned actors around in Hollywood at present. The Rush Hour star has been in the industry for nearly six decades, and he is a veteran when it comes to action films, even if he just turned 70 years old.
Chan is a venerated artist, who carved a niche for himself with his unique acrobatic fighting style. Moreover, he is a comedic genius to boot, and it speaks of the wealth of talent he was endowed with. His recent pictures, however, caused a bit of an alarm, but the actor was able to put a lot of anxious minds at rest with his post.

There's an entire generation of movie lovers who first encountered Jackie Chan in the "Rush Hour" films. The actor, director and stuntsman didn't have a huge love for the franchise at the time, perhaps because they barely scratched the surface of what he was capable of as a choreographer. Still, his buddy cop films hold a special place in the hearts of countless action fans, and his rapport with co-star Chris Tucker isn't half bad, either.
The "Rush Hour" trilogy hasn't aged the best in the intervening years, thanks in part to its director, Brett Ratner, who was accused of sexual misconduct in 2017. The film's "East meets West" humor would also never fly today, making the franchise something of a time capsule for irreverent, 2000s humor. Still, we could never get enough of Chan and Tucker — that's why we're all still holding out for that potential "Rush Hour 4." While...

Jackie Chan has always defied the process of aging with his boundless energy. So much so that now, when he finally decided to gracefully embrace aging and all the parts and parcels that come along with it, he’s left fans in disbelief once again. A recent picture of the global icon, who will soon be stepping into his seventies, caused quite a bit of a stir online. Why? Blackface performances by white people on a popular Polish TV talent show have caused uproar on social media.
On Sept. 9, Polish star Kuba Szmajkowski won episode two of the current season of “Twoja Twarz Brzmi Znajomo,” the Polish version of “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” for performing Lamar’s track “Humble” from Grammy-winning album “Damn” (2017) in Blackface. During his performance he also used the N-word. On the same episode, actor Pola Gonciarz darkened her skin and performed Beyoncé’s “If I Were a Boy.”
The two Blackface performances have stirred outrage on social media. One of the comments on Szmajkowski’s performance was: “Oh no Kuba, this isn’t okay. Producers of this show, what were you thinking? Kuba is an amazing talent who could have had a massive career internationally. But now this performance is out there.”
The Polish version of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” is produced by Banijay’s Endemol Shine.

In the world of buddy cop comedies, the "Rush Hour" franchise remains a standout. The odd coupling of a reserved chief inspector from Hong Kong and a fast-talking LAPD officer sparked three action-packed, hilarious films popular the world over, amassing over $850 million at the global box office.
Across the three films, Chief Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) and Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker) solve cases in Hong Kong and the U.S., even paying a brief visit to France, typically involving the Triads and government officials. And while the trilogy offers adrenaline-inducing action sequences, it's the comedic chemistry between the two actors that has endured.
When the first installment of "Rush Hour" debuted in 1998, North American audiences had just become acquainted with Chan following the success of "Rumble in the Bronx," while films like "Friday" and "The Fifth Element" highlighted Tucker as an emerging comedic voice. Their natural banter won audiences...

Like the first day of Lollapalooza 2023, Day Two featured competing headliners that vied for some 100,000+ people’s attention. On one side was the 1975, whose frontman Matty Healy has been making headlines, and on the other was one of the greatest rappers of all time, Kendrick Lamar.

The original Max series “Full Circle” debuts on July 13. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the new drama investigates a kidnapping gone wrong in New York, revealing the secrets and lies of multiple characters. Or as the trailer warns: “Everything is connected.” The six-episode limited series stars Zazie Beetz, Claire Danes, Jim Gaffigan, Jharrel Jerome, Timothy Olyphant, and Dennis Quaid.
Watch the “Full Circle” trailer:
The four-part documentary “Last Call: When A Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York” is set in the early 1990s as the AIDS crisis worsens. The media’s distorted coverage of the gay victims, coupled with the homophobic biases of the criminal justice system, undermine the investigation. The docuseries — which premieres on Max on July 9 — illustrates how the LGBTQ+ community fought to solve the murders and demand attention for those murdered.

Actress Zhang Ziyi led a celebration of Chinese women in cinema at this week’s Shanghai International Film Festival, and urged the country’s next generation of female stars to be “fearless” when choosing their roles.
The Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Memoirs of a Geisha star was taking part in a session titled “Her Film Era Forum: Life Without Limits” on the sidelines of the 25th edition of China’s preeminent festival, where she discussed her own career and shared some of the lessons she has learned across almost three decades in film.
“You should always be curious and stick to it as your profession once you decide to join this industry,” Zhang said. “When facing new challenges, [women] need to be fearless instead of being afraid of failure. Success will not be guaranteed, but we will never know the result if we never make a start.”

Jackie Chan has signed on to star in A Legend, a martial arts fantasy-adventure movie which will be a sequel to his 2005 movie The Myth.
The sequel to The Myth will find Jackie Chan reprising his role as archaeology expert Professor Chen. “The film’s action begins when he notices that the texture on the artifacts discovered by his students during a glacier expedition is strikingly similar to a jade pendant he had seen in his dreams,” reads the description. “Suspecting that the pendant is acting as a bridge between the realm of dreams and reality, Professor Chen leads his research team on a journey deep into the Glacier Temple, embarking on a fantastical adventure.” A Legend will be directed by Stanley Tong, a long-time collaborator of Chan who has helmed Police Story 3, Rumble in the Bronx, and The Myth.

It’s been over fifteen years since Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker had their last Rush Hour misadventure, but there’s been talk of a sequel all that time. Jackie Chan confirmed last year that he was in talks for Rush Hour 4, and now Chris Tucker has added that he’s “definitely” ready to return as well.
Chris Tucker spoke to Audacy’s V-103 (via Variety) to tease a few of his upcoming projects, including Rush Hour 4. “You’re going to see a lot of good stuff coming, but it’s going to be on a whole other level,” Tucker said. “That’s what I like… I’m excited about that. It’s not going to be what you’ve normally seen… ‘Rush Hour 4,’ that’s something I definitely will probably drop in there because I love working with Jackie, but I’ve got some new stuff...

Actors Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker collaborated on the hit comedy series Rush Hour. But when they first met, Tucker’s style of acting would sometimes throw Chan off his game.
Jackie Chan once had no idea why ‘Rush Hour’ was so successful Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Rush Hour is one of both Chan’s and Tucker’s most successful films. It earned $245 million worldwide on a very modest budget according to The Numbers. Its success inspired two more Rush Hour movies, with Rush Hour 2 being the highest-grossing of the franchise.
Many critics pointed to the chemistry and intriguing dynamic between Chan and Tucker as partially responsible for the film’s performance. The unorthodox pairing of the comedian and action star led to one of the most memorable onscreen partnerships in the buddy cop genre. But if you asked Chan himself, Chan couldn’t pinpoint...

After nearly a decade of evasion and hefty scores in the fashion-beauty industry, Rihanna is returning to the music scene this Sunday at the Super Bowl in what is probably the most anticipated Halftime Show of all time. The nine-time Grammy winner said in a February 9 Apple Music interview that fans can expect no less than the most meticulously selected glimpses into her career, and of course, an anthem to black womanhood and her Caribbean roots.
The Super Bowl is famous for headlining some of music’s biggest names, and past artists to take the stage include Beyonce, Lady Gaga and The Weeknd. The stakes are high, especially given what fans described as an agonizing absence by Rihanna, but the budgets might be even higher — though the game does not pay artists a dime to perform, it does cover all production costs, which can run up to millions of dollars per show.

An omnipresent force, Rihanna has managed to be inescapable since the release of her eighth and most recent studio album Anti in 2016, while also being perpetually hounded about when her grand return to music would finally arrive. For the first few years following the record, the singer’s trajectory followed the typical path: She put out the project, promoted the singles, and went on tour. She was celebrating her strongest body of work yet and just so happened to pick up some beauty and fashion ventures along the way with...

He said in his acceptance speech: “I finally found perfection with this album. As artists we’re all entertainers. We say things to provoke thoughts and feelings and emotions. Making this record, one of my toughest to make, allowed me to do that and share other people’s experiences.”
The rapper took home the award over fellow nominees Pusha T, Jack Harlow, Future and DJ Khaled.
Lamar has now won Best Rap Album thrice after having been victorious in the category in 2016 ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ and 2018 for ‘Damn’,

Before the cameras began rolling on "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley," the celebrated comedy franchise had struggled to find a way to continue its story. Attempts to get a fourth "Beverly Hills Cop" film off the ground spanned decades and several scripts, with it only materializing only recently thanks to Netflix. While we will eventually see Eddie Murphy's classic character return to the screen, we can't up but think about all the other variations of how his story could continue.
One of these variations involved him handing over the reins to his son, Aaron. This was the premise of a proposed television show to air on CBS, which received a pilot order in 2013. Unfortunately, while a pilot was shot, "Beverly Hills Cop" never materialized as a show. However, it might not be for the reason you expected. Take it from Murphy himself, who spoke about it with IndieWire back...

Kendrick Lamar has revealed why he’s not active on social media.
The 35-year-old rapper, currently on his Morale & the Big Steppers tour, has a reason why his social media is mostly “completely off”.
“My social media, most of the time, is completely off,” Lamar told New York Times. “Because I know, like ... I can easily smell my own s***.
“I know... Like, I’m not one of those dudes that be like, Oh, yeah, I know how good I am, but I also know the reason why I’m so good is because God’s blessed me with the talent to execute on the talent, and the moment that you start getting lost in your ego, that’s when you start going down.”
Earlier this year, Lamar closed Glastonbury Festival with a powerful headline set that saw him chant “Godspeed for women’s rights” before dramatically exiting the Pyramid Stage.

Kendrick Lamar gets deep in his feelings with the one and only Helen Mirren in the new music video for “Count Me Out.” Lamar directed clip with his frequent collaborator Dave Free.
Mirren plays Lamar’s therapist in the latest Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers visual, which opens in the middle of a session. After Lamar shares an anecdote about swooping in and stealing a woman’s parking spot, he cops to a late-night text to his analyst — “I feel like I’m fallen” — and then proceeds to unload his feeling.

For Kendrick Lamar, the experience on his short film “We Cry Together” “gave me more freedom, as a person. Being able to run toward my fear and say the things I want to say and do it in an artistic way — it allowed me to live my truth even deeper.” That’s what he told Variety in a recent interview about the nearly six-minute-long film, which serves as the music video for the song of the same name from Lamar’s latest album, “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers.” It’s officially an Oscar contender for Best Live Action Short. Watch it above.

After picking up a slew of Grammy nominations for Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers, Kendrick Lamar dropped a new visual for the album cut “Rich Spirit.”
Directed by Calmatic, the clip finds Lamar performing the song while puttering/dancing around a very chic and also very empty home. The clip is filled with peculiar touches, too, like Lamar chatting on a disconnected phone or eating a late-night snack while sitting on a kitchen island in the dark. The “Rich Spirit” video ends with one final flourish, as that aforementioned disconnected phone suddenly starts ringing.

It wouldn’t be October on Netflix without a new Mike Flanagan title. Thankfully the Midnight Mass showrunner returns with The Midnight Club on Oct. 7. Every month, without fanfare, numerous titles are removed from the streamer.
This means that, should something be on your watchlist, it will vanish until it’s added again.
Netflix doesn’t publicise the titles it will remove – and users will only be alerted to something’s imminent removal if they happen to select the title in question.
But, with help from the team at What’s on Netflix, we’ve compiled the full list – and you can find the compilation of everything being added this month here.

The 2022 Video Music Awards nominations are here, and Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X are leading the pack with seven nods each. Following closely behind them are Doja Cat and Harry Styles (with six each), as well as Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd (with five apiece).
Harlow and Lil Nas X are standouts because of their breakout hit “Industry Baby,” which premiered live on a global stage for the first time at the awards ceremony last year. Lamar, who made a triumphant return to music with his fifth studio album “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers,” is nominated for the first time since 2018, which saw nods for his Pulitzer Prize-winning magnum opus “Damn.”
Other notable recognitions include Madonna, who reigns as the most awarded artist in MTV history with 20 wins and has become the sole musician to be nominated in each of the VMA’s five decades,...
