Two of the new channels come from a partnership with Lionsgate. The Celebrity Name Game Channel will feature re-runs of the popular show of the same name 24 hours a day. “Celebrity Name Game” was originally a board game developed by actors Courtney Cox and David Arquette called “Identity Crisis.” It later became a TV game show and has been running since 2014. It involves two couples, who can either be friends or family, who compete in the game show. They are accompanied by two special celebrity guests, aiding them in guessing the names of famous people, locations, movies, TV shows, and more.

Exclusive: An attorney for Forbes March, the former star of such soaps as One Life to Live and All My Children who was arrested earlier this month in New York State for the alleged theft of used cooking oil, has responded to the charge in an exclusive statement to Deadline saying that March operates a legitimate oil collection service and that a “poorly marked and seemingly abandoned” container was mistaken for one of the containers legally serviced by March’s company.
“While not readily apparent to Forbes that day due to the poor markings,” reads the statement released by attorney Jared K. Hart, “one of the containers in fact allegedly belonged to Buffalo Biodiesel. Approximately 90 gallons of oil, only a portion of the oil collected that evening, allegedly came from the Biodiesel container that appeared abandoned and contained mostly dirty rainwater that would later have to be separated out.

Forbes March, a former soap actor who did stints on One Life to Live, All My Children and As the World Turns, was arrested in Hudson County, New York, earlier this month and charged with grand larceny for the alleged theft of used cooking oil from a diner.
The cooking oil has an estimated value of more than $1,000, according to the Ulster Police Department, and allegedly was siphoned by March and a second man, Oscar Guardado, from a storage container owned by a company called Buffalo Biodiesel. The tank was located behind Michael’s Diner, an Ulster restaurant.
The two men, who were released following their arrests, are expected to answer the charges of grand larceny in the fourth degree in the Town of Ulster Court at a later date.

The recent crop of hit Netflix shows aren’t the first time Marvel has taken its heroes to the small screen. Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, Blade and even knock-off-ish X-Men have had a go before the current golden age. Here are all the Marvel shows you’ve seen and a few you might not have, ranked from goofiest pajama costumes to best character-driven dramas.
18. “The Amazing Spider-Man” (1977-79)
A 1977 attempt at a live-action “Spider-Man” is a fun throwback — but in a purely ironic way because Peter Parker’s wall-crawling “special effects” are pretty cringe-worthy. Watching Spider-Man fight guys using extremely hokey choreography gives the whole thing a pretty goofy vibe.
17. “Spidey Super Stories” (1974-1977)
Some days, Spider-Man takes on some super-boring villains. He goes up against The Prankster (a school principal who keeps pranking his students) and The Spoiler (who just likes to everyday things for people) in these goofy...

Rooster Teeth has released the full-length trailer for Lazer Team 2 -- the Austin-based production outfit's highly-anticipated sequel to its first-ever feature film. Lazer Team 2 will debut on YouTube Red on Nov. 22 -- though a limited theatrical release courtesy of Gunpowder & Sky is planned ahead of that date. (Tickets are available here).
The film will see returning cast members Colton Dunn (Superstore), Burnie Burns (Rooster Teeth), Gavin Free (The Slow Mo Guys), and Michael Jones (Rwby) back in action as the titular squad. The second installment, however -- co-directed by Daniel Fabelo and Matt Hullum -- sees the pressures of sudden fame having divided the unlikely band of alien-fighting heroes. And when Free’s character goes missing on a secret research mission, it will be up to a new character, played by Nichole Bloom (Superstore), to rescue their lost friend and get the team back together. Fans have long been awaiting the premiere of Fox’s new X-Men based series, The Gifted. There was a lot of expectation and hype associated with this series, as it’s the first time the Mutant X-gene has made its way to the small screen. At the height of comic book popularity, this was the perfect time to bring a series like this to TV. After watching the pilot episode, filled with puns (get it, eXposed?) and Easter Eggs, I’m happy to report that so far, so good. I’ve been excited for this show since the first preview, and so far I am not

Following X-Men: Apocalypse, where is the broader X-Men universe across films, TV and comics?
For much of the 80s and 90s, the X-Men were Marvel’s #1 franchise, propelled to greatness by top-flight creators like Chris Claremont, John Byrne, Louise Simonson and Jim Lee. By 1997, one single X-Men title (Uncanny X-Men) had grown into a family of 8 books – Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, Wolverine, X-Force, X-Factor, Cable, Generation X and Excalibur – and it’s no surprise that X-Men became one of Marvel’s first blockbuster movies, in 2001.
But times change. Claremont, the architect of the X-Men’s success and the man who developed many of the franchise’s greatest stories, has recently spoken about how the X-Men’s gradual decline has “nothing to do with comic sales [and] everything to do with the fact that the film rights are controlled by a rival corporation.”
But is he correct? And if so,...

While X-Men: Apocalypse may have closed out the second Bryan Singer trilogy with a bit of a wimper, fans have every right to expect that the currently-untitled Wolverine III won’t do the same. Wolverine is a character who has always been more fit for an R-rating than a PG-13 one, and as such, with this third flick, it’s fitting that the studio would allow actor Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold go all out should the story require it.
For a film that comes out in just five months, however, we know surprisingly little about it — especially a comic book film. Well, I can imagine that won’t be the case for very long. The summer is officially over, and while this marks the start of the upcoming Oscar season for film fans, it’s not nearly as crowded on the blockbuster front as it was a couple months back.

June, "a coming of rage," horror title will be released by Rlj Entertainment. This film distribution company acquired release rights for June, appropriately enough, in late June of 2015. Now, a release date has been chosen, October 6th, 2015. The film was directed by L. Gustavo Cooper (The Devil Incarnate) and it stars Kennedy Brice (“The Walking Dead”), Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) and Victoria Pratt (Mutant X). The film's official DVD artwork is hosted here. For more on the story, June is a tragic character. She leaves a trail of destruction as she moves from foster home to foster home. At her new location, she tries to control her demonic powers, until they control her. Now, an entire neighbourhood is under siege, with June possessed by an ancient evil. The low quality graphic for June shows the central character and her ability to move objects. Knives and cleavers will be unleashed in just a few months.

In their freshman year, Marvel’s Netflix Daredevil series and DC’s CW show the Flash got some of the most overwhelmingly positive reviews of any TV shows ever based on super heroes. They are arguably the two best debut seasons for shows adapted from a comic book. Which one is better? Cinelinx looks at these two excellent shows to determine the live action small screen comic champ.
There have been lots and lots of live action TV programs based on comic books, starting with the Adventures of Superman in the 1950s. If recent reports are to be believed, Fox is planning to bring the X-Men franchise to the TV in some form or another, doubtlessly hoping to compete with Marvel and DC's ever-growing stable of shows.
And why not? The X-Men are no strangers to television, with a surprising number of TV appearances under their belts. So what are they like, and what can Fox learn from them as it attempts to bring a new X-Men TV series to life?
X-Men: Pryde Of The X-Men (1989)
This 30-minute animated short was produced as a pilot for an animated X-Men show and mostly used the 1970s Claremont/Byrne era team as its basis, though with one obvious exception. Had Marvel gone ahead, we'd have seen a team consisting of Professor X,...

The History Channel did so well with Hatfields And McCoys in 2012, that they are re-teaming with star of that series, Bill Paxton, for Texas Rising – and it is Paxton that features in the first image from the production, from Entertainment Weekly. The eight hour miniseries details the rise of the Texas Rangers after the events at the Alamo, and also numbers Brendan Fraser among its all-star cast.
Paxton stars as Sam Houston – namesake of the Texas city, and the American politician and soldier that helped bring Texas into the United States. During his career, in addition to being the first and third President of the Republic of Texas, he was instrumental in the victory that secured the independence of Texas from Mexico at the Battle of San Jacinto. The Texas Rangers – about whom this miniseries is made – were technically founded by Stephen F. Austin in 1823, when he employed ten men...

(Cbr) Given the success Fox has found with its rebooted "X-Men" film franchise, it should come as no surprise that the studio might want to follow Warner Bros. and Marvel in bringing its heroes to television. Citing its Hollywood sources, Bleeding Cool reports Fox is “deep in development” on a live-action series featuring the Marvel mutants. How deep? That networks are apparently showing an interest, which the website contends is how this slim bit of information trickled out. While there’s a long, and generally successful, history of "X-Men" animated TV series, dating back to 1992, the same can’t be said for live-action. In 1996, Fox aired the made-for-tv movie "Generation X," which may have been intended as a backdoor pilot, but never progressed any further. Marvel Studios also produced the live-action syndicated series "Mutant X" (2001-2004), leading to a lawsuit from Fox, which claimed the series infringed on its exclusive...

The X-Men might be the next group of superheroes who get their own TV series. According to BleedingCool, Fox is "in deep development" on a live-action X-Men TV show.
This is just a rumor, by the by, but hey, let's run with it for a second, shall we? Comic books are super in right now. That's no big surprise. We have so many TV shows, airing and soon to air, that are based on comics like The Strain, The Walking Dead, Daredevil, Flash, Arrow, Constantine, Gotham, Powers, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, The Defenders, Agents Of Shield, Agent Carter, Supergirl, and many more. Some of said comic books are nowhere near as popular as the X-Men.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuts tonight on ABC, and I’d like to take a quick moment to be a little reflective. This is a pretty big moment for superhero fiction. Comic Book Movies are in a golden era right now, but aside from Blade: The TV Series, this will mark the most notable spin-off to come from a Cbm. (No, I’m not counting Mutant X) We’ve come a long way. The Adventures of Superman kicked off a history of adaptations (From Lois and Clark to Smallville, Superman has had the most) and usually, superhero TV is reserved for the biggest names. Even The Flash got his own show! But that doesn’t mean lesser-knowns like The Tick or Witchblade can’t get a shot too. If popular, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. could mark a renaissance for heroes on TV again. To be fair, some credit should go...

Sneak Peek new images from the Montreal set of director Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Days Of Future Past", revealing a Marvel Comics' superhero mutant that first appeared in "X-Men: First Class".
Actor Lucas Till returns to the "X-Men" movie universe as 'Alex Summers', aka 'Havok' in "X-Men: Days of Future Past".
Debuting in Marvel Comics' "Uncanny X-Men" #54 (March 1969), the character was created by Arnold Drake, Don Heck and Neal Adams.

Havok was also a member of the 1990's-era Pentagon-sponsored mutant team comic book series "X-Factor". After X-Factor disbanded, Havok starred in "Mutant X", a series in which he explored a strange alternate...

I'm standing in a drab, monochromatic police department TV set in Vancouver that could quite feasibly serve as the base for any number of procedural police dramas on the air right now. Except this particular police show has something none of the others do: a foxy cop from the future. Yes, the cop and sci-fi genres have been melded together for the hot new summer show "Continuum," set to debut on Showcase this week.
The show follows Keira Cameron (Rachel Nichols, "Criminal Minds"), an officer with the Vancouver City Protective Services (Cps). We first meet Keira in 2077, when she's a regular "protector," wife and mother going about her business. When she's placed on guard duty during a mass execution of seven terrorists, she's jolted 65 years into the past when the prisoners deploy a high-tech, time-travel escape. She's disoriented -- to say the least -- when she finds herself in the...

When it comes to making zombies, it always seems so much worse when mindless raving berserkers are created by government tomfoolery. Project: S.E.R.A. doesn't feature zombies in the traditional sense, but this version of the undead monster could be worse.
Written and directed by Benjamin Howdeshell, Project: S.E.R.A. stars Julia Voth (Jill Valentine from the Resident Evil video games, Bitch Slap), Victor Webster (Scorpion King III, Mutant X) and Dennis Keiffer (stunt actor from GI Joe, Superman, Green Hornet) interwoven into some back alley dealings that have a decorated United States general being treated less than regally and eventually zombified.
The film is shot beautifully with some great action and kick-ass F/X work. For more info be sure to "like" Project: S.E.R.A. on Facebook and follow @ProjectSera on Twitter. Check it out!

Julia Voth may be one of the best-kept secrets in geekdom today. But after watching the fetching actress play Jill Valentine in the Resident Evil video games and deliver a fun, sexy performance in the recent grindhouse-style free-for-all Bitch Slap, I'd happily pay money just to watch Voth read the phone book. Fortunately, the new short film Project: S.E.R.A. has her doing a lot more than that, and you can watch it now -- right after the jump. Written and directed by Benjamin Howdeshell, Project: S.E.R.A. stars Julia Voth, Victor Webster (Scorpion King III, Mutant X), and Dennis Keiffer (stunt actor in G.I. Joe, Superman, Green Hornet). And it certainly looks as good as most of today's action features. So...

In the film, a young woman watches helplessly as her father, a decorated general, is tortured and killed with an experimental biological weapon. When he suddenly reanimates in a ferocious bloodthirsty state, she must use the combat skills he taught her to escape both her captors and the creature he has become.
