“Big Little Lies” isn’t the only HBO limited series fielding demands for more seasons. “The Night Of” set the TV landscape on fire when it debuted in the summer of 2016, and people are still hot to see more nearly a year later.
Speaking at an Emmy For Your Consideration event in North Hollywood on Thursday night, co-creator Steven Zaillian, joined by stars Riz Ahmed and John Turturro, was asked whether or not Season 2 was a possibility.
“My client pleads the fifth,” joked Turturro, who played defense attorney John Stone on “The Night Of.”
“Listen, we would love to do it,” Zaillian said. “And when I say ‘we,’ I mean [co-creator] Richard Price and myself. If we can come up with something that we fall in love with, we’ll do it. If we don’t, we won’t.”

No one really wanted a Han Solo movie. Let’s start with that. We all had fond memories of Han Solo and the original Star Wars growing up, but many of us were nervous about the prospect of seeing anyone other than the legendary Harrison Ford take on the task of portraying everyone’s favorite scoundrel. While the tickets are almost guaranteed to sell themselves, the filmmakers and actors involved seem to be facing an unenviable task: living up to any preconceived notions fans have dreamed up over the past forty years.
While many of us may not have wanted this film, we are cheering for its success, nonetheless.
Believe it or not, that time is almost here. The film may be set to hit in mid-2018, but thanks to a new tweet from co-director Chris Miller, we now know that the film has officially begun production under the hilarious production name,...

Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the minds behind The Lego Movie, the Jump Street film franchise, and a bunch of other ideas that seem terrible on paper but they somehow turn into creative gold, have begun filming the Han Solo origin movie for Lucasfilm. Miller took to Instagram to let Star Wars fans know they're underway:

One half of Han Solo directing duo, Chris Miller, has officially announced that shooting has begun on the upcoming Star Wars anthology flick. Miller posted an image of a film slate with the words "Star Wars: Red Cup", which we're pretty certain isn't going to be the actual title of the movie. He's also captioned it with a clever little play on the oft-repeated mantra of Star wars geeks the world over: "Han shot first". Han First Shot pic.twitter.com/KReR6rgKFT — Chris Miller (@chrizmillr) January 30, 2017 Though specific plot details remain under wraps, we do know that the movie will tell the tale of Solo's early years as a budding space smuggler, and will feature younger versions of Lando and Chewie. Woody Harrelson also recently revealed that he'll be playing Han's ruthless mentor, Garris Shrike. Kathleen Kennedy and Allison Shearmur are producing the Han Solo standalone film, which...

"I wrote a little document that I printed out and gave to her, saying I was going to consider quitting this whole [acting] thing in January 2018 because I was just getting tired of things," Perini told If.
A week after that, the father of three auditioned for a role in the second season of Jane Campion's Top of the Lake - and booked it.
Unfortunately that plum gig clashed with the dates for First Shot, and Perini decided to pull out.

The contest from late last year have completed production on their films and all three are now available for viewing. Each one stars Uma Thurman in a new role, and they're each quite fun. The Gift follows the character Miss Anderson, who works at a city department store wrapping gifts. Jump! is set during 48 hours at a psychiatric facility, where Jack meets Wendy, a young woman with a unique obsession. If you're interested, watch them below. The international short film competition offers three aspiring filmmakers from the Us, Russia and South Africa the chance to have their film made with Thurman, supported by Kevin Spacey in his role as creative director of Trigger Street Productions.
Dana Brunetti, president of Trigger Street Productions, will produce the three films with his team.
“What excites me about being involved with Jameson First Shot is that I love the idea of finding and discovering young talent – it’s what makes the film business alive,” said Thurman.

The shorts see two-time Oscar nominee Dafoe take on three very different roles – a hypochondriac ex-ping pong player, a nerve-damaged car accident victim and an android with a heart – in the films written and directed by talented up-and-coming filmmakers.
The three winning short films; Saving Norman from South Africa, The Smile Man from Russia and Love’s Routine from the Us are available to view now at YouTube.com/JamesonWhiskey.

The Jameson First Shot competition is an annual competition that allows for emerging filmmakers to get their work made and get a break into the industry. With numerous submissions, Shirlyn Wong was the United States finalist, along with Russian finalist Anton Lanshakov for his short The Smile Man, and South African finalist Hanneke Schutte for her short of Saving Norman. The three were in attendance, along with Kevin Spacey, Dana Brunetti and Willem Dafoe at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn to celebrate the Us final…
What led you to make this competition?
Kevin Spacey: Well this time I didn’t act in the films but I was very grateful and gratified that Willem was willing to jump off a building with me because normally when you go to an actor like Willem, you have a script and you have a director. And in this case, I said, ‘Well there’s three movies,...

Shirlyn Wong really felt like she was living someone else’s life when she found herself poking Willem Dafoe’s face. It wasn’t her choice. A conversation about the biology of dimples (Wong has a pair of distinctive ones, tiny commas set on either side of her chin) led Dafoe, the Oscar-nominated actor, to twist his famously expressive face into a frown and insist she “check out these muscles!” Wong, a film student at Nyu who happened to be directing Dafoe, fretted about overstepping boundaries, but she couldn’t say no to her talented star. “He kept telling me to poke it,” she says. And? “He’s got an incredibly muscular facial structure.” Other notable Dafoe-isms, according to Wong, include a surprisingly playful sense of humor for a guy who’s played both the Devil and Nosferatu, and a tendency to always be “hopping and skipping.”
Wong was living every Mfa student’s dream.

When Shirlyn Wong received an email telling her she was one of two U.S. finalists for the 2013 Jameson First Shot competition, she was pretty happy. "I was like, great, this is second place, this is awesome!" she told me in an interview last weekend in Manhattan. The email didn't say anything about second place, but Wong--almost by instinct--wasn't about to get her hopes up. "There's so much rejection in this industry," Wong told me during our interview, "that you immediately accept rejection." In the Jameson competition, for Wong at least, there was no rejection to accept. Just a few weeks later, she would be in Los Angeles directing her winning short screenplay, "Love's Routine" and trying to make sure that Willem Dafoe didn't asphyxiate to death in the plastic bag in which she'd asked him to wrap himself. The Jameson First Shot competition, now in its second year, takes...

So, now we know that Paramount are comprehensively rebooting the Jack Ryan character and creating something akin to a cross-over franchise, where Chris Pine plays a younger, pre-cia Ryan and Kevin Costner plays a mentor figure (William Harper) who may then crop up in Without Remorse as a similar mentor for Clancy’s character John Kelly, if rumours of Christopher McQuarrie taking on that project prove to be true.
Lost yet? We’ll see how this pans out. What we do know for sure is that Jack Ryan, with Chris Pine as Ryan and Kevin Costner as Harper is now shooting under Kenneth Branagh’s supervision. Ryan will be a financial analyst at this stage, yet to be lured into the CIA and Branagh is taking on villain duties as well, as Ryan’s boss who is planning to do something fairly mean with the Us economy. Quite what could...

All the best film puns have to do with booze, don't they? Today Trigger Street Productions announced the U.S. winner of their Jameson First Shot competition -- that's right, Jameson, as in the famous Irish whiskey named after its creative, John Jameson. Benjamin Leavitt, who won the competition in the U.S., is a director and editor who graduated from Nyu in 2004. His winning film, "The Ventriloquist," follows a taciturn ventriloquist who tries to outwit his gregarious marionette. Two other winners from South Africa and Russia will join Leavitt as winners from a pool of over 700 entries. Trigger Street, of course, is Kevin Spacey's production company, and part of the winners' prize is the opportunity to shoot their script in La with Spacey playing the lead role. For some reason, we see shades of "Lost in Translation" in this. Alright, it's not quite the same, but still -- actors and whiskey?...

“If you’re doing well, send the elevator back down,” legendary actor Jack Lemmon once told Kevin Spacey, one of the most acclaimed actors of our day. These words served as an inspiration behind the partnering of Spacey's Trigger Street Productions with Jameson Irish Whiskey to create the visionary Jameson First Shot short film competition, which is designed to discover talented screenwriters and directors from the United States, Russia and South Africa. The winning artist from each of the three countries will have their script made into a short film. But here's the kicker: Each of the three shorts will be produced by Trigger Street Productions and will star two-time Oscar winner Spacey himself.

With the cast in place and the three main roles filled (Will Sasso as Curly, Sean Hayes as Larry, and Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe), 20th Century Fox just unveiled the first official Three Stooges teaser poster on their website.

Craig Bierko joins The Three Stooges
Will Sasso to play Curly
Sean Hayes cast as Larry
Chris Diamantopoulos cast as Moe
It's a silhouette of the three characters with the words "Just say Moe" stamped across. The bottom left corner features a deliberate crop of the Twentieth Cenury Fox logo.
Who else thinks Larry's hair outline resembles Robert Smith from The Cure with just a little more frizz?
I was a little hesitant at first with the casting since we were promised Sean Penn, Jim Carrey and Benecio Del Toro for the roles, but this is starting to look like it's coming together pretty well.
