LONDON -- Seven independent U.K. film productions have been granted development cash from the Film Council's lottery-supported Development Fund, the government-backed strategy body said Thursday. A total of £313,597 ($506,467) was dispensed, with £82,897 ($133,881) going to Reputation, a medical thriller based on a novel by Hugh Montgomery. Stephen Hopkins (The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, Under Suspicion) is directing a screenplay by Peter Iliff (Point Break, Patriot Games) for producer Sophie Balhetchet, whose credits include the television shows Table 12 and Rough Treatment.
