Exclusive: Art heist documentary to be sold by Metro International.
Metro International will give a premiere screening in Berlin to long-in-the-works art heist documentary The Banksy Job, which is due to be shown at one of the city’s art galleries.
The film charts the story behind an incident in London in 2004 when a sculpture by street artist Banksy was stolen by a group of eccentric ‘art terrorists’.
Ian Roderick Gray and Dylan Harvey direct, Christine Alderson (Snow In Paradise) and Alex Hurle of Ipso Facto Productions produce.
Will Machin, CEO of Metro International said: “We are really excited to be part of this celebration of street art and the cast of extraordinary characters involved in it. The filmmakers have toiled for four years to bring this unique story to the big screen, and Berlin, with its rich history of art, rebellion and counter-culture, is the perfect city for a private showcase of the film.”

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to take John Travolta seriously. He became a viral punch line after the last Academy Awards, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to admit that he hasn’t been featured in a genuinely substantial film in what seems like forever. He took the “Adele Dazeem” stuff on the chin, at least, but what can explain his consistently questionable career choices year in and year out? Needless to say, if anyone is expecting the beginnings of a “Travoltassance” with his latest leading role in Philip Martin’s “The Forger,” they will walk away sorely disappointed. The film will instead be added to his growing list of washouts, since it plays out like the spliced scraps swiped from the editing room of a more efficient but still tiresomely average thriller. Actor, comedian, raconteur and all around renaissance man Stephen Fry posted a tweet on his Twitter account earlier today teasing his followers with news that he and his once and future comedy partner Hugh Laurie are “cooking up a project together. We will be working again soon.” He apologized for having no other details, but said he would offer more when he can. Laurie is just coming off his epic run on Fox’s House, so it may surprise many people in the U.S. that Laurie is, in fact, British, and is still best known there for doing comedy, particularly with Fry. They starred together in the sketch comedy show A Bit of Fry & Laurie, which ran from 1989 to 1995 at various time on BBC1 and BBC2. The two men, along with Emma Thompson, met while all attended University of Cambridge. All three of them – and others from that generation...

Paramount has picked up the rights to Slg Publishing's graphic novel Agnes Quill: An Anthology of Mystery written by Dave Roman and first published in 2006. Thor Freudenthal, of the upcoming Hotel for Dogs, will direct this adaptation, while Evan Spiliotopoulos, of Art Heist and Terra, will write the screenplay. The graphic novel tells the story of Agnes Quill, who upon turning 16 inherits an estate, and the ability to see and communicate with the dead, from her grandfather. This is one of the first projects producer Adam Goodman has started since DreamWorks split with Paramount. Sounds interesting? Agnes Quill is the story of a teenage detective, the haunted city she lives in, the strange cases she solves, and the ghosts who help, hinder, or just plain annoy her. Set in Legerdemain a congested, fog-filled, cobblestone-paved Victorian city built around a cemetery the size of Central Park Agnes adventures include confrontations ...
