Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Payback,” “The Only Man in the Sky” and “Barbary Coast,” the three episodes that are part of the June 3 launch of “The Boys” Season 3.
Within the first three episodes of Season 2, “The Boys” blew up a whale by having Butcher (Karl Urban) crash into it with a speedboat. In the Season 3 premiere, the Amazon Prime Video show exploded a smaller, but much more graphic, object in an even more bizarre way.
As “The Boys” showrunner Eric Kripke previously promised Variety, within the first 15 minutes of the Season 3 premiere, a moment occurs that is “a thousand times crazier” than the whale scene: A superhero named Termite (Brett Geddes) shrinks down and climbs into the urethra of his significant other in order to pleasure him from inside his penis. Termite accidentally sneezes, causing him to quickly grow back up to normal...

Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen joined James Corden in reenacting what the Late Late Show host called "the greatest romantic comedies of all time" on Thursday's episode of the CBS talk show.
The Long Shot costars opened the segment by reenacting a scene from You've Got Mail. Theron wore a blonde wig to resemble Meg Ryan, while Rogen sported a short brunette wig to take on Tom Hanks' role. In the scene, Rogen asked Theron if she wanted to meet in person through an instant message.

iZombie remains one of the most politically-relevant shows on TV (and one of the funniest) as it launches its finale season.
This iZombie review contains spoilers.
iZombie Season 5, Episode 1
Over the past four seasons, iZombie has slowly and steadily moved from an entertaining murder-of-the-week dramedy to also being one of the most politically-relevant shows on TV. As it launches its fifth and final season, we return to a New Seattle that is much changed from the Seattle we first visited in the show's pilot. Much like the slow, often scary changes we've seen in the real-world, iZombie's setting has lost much of its sense of stability, resulting in acts of violent desperation that have become frighteningly more common in real-world America.
The action in the Season 5 premiere picks up six months following the events of the Season 4 finale. Major is still in charge of Fillmore Graves, a zombie-run military corporation...

Masked is another of those handpicked books by the Titan editorial team from the vast material out there in Europe. Usually lacking any character or creator recognition, these books have to get by on good looks alone, so you know the editorial team would have chosen only top quality books they think will succeed.
The first two issues of this book have been pretty good. We have been following our ‘hero’, Frank Braffort, and his efforts to settle in a futuristic Paris, Paritropolis, after being unceremoniously kicked out of the military. Unfairly, as flashbacks showed us. Paritropolis, a city of flying cars and giant television screens the size of a skyscraper wall, has also been caught up in an odd invasion by ‘anomalies’, mysterious metal entities who are terrorising the city and its inhabitants. A military force has been assembled,...

Salomé Lamas. Photo by Ale Vulcano, courtesy of The Bogliasco Foundation. It's one thing to head to the top of the world to shoot at the highest-altitude human settlement, another entirely different to see the result of that shoot projected on a screen. But if the screen is the giant-sized IMAX at Berlin's Sony Center, the experience may be closer than you'd think. Salomé Lamas may look small next to either the top of the world or the IMAX screen, but the Portuguese director, only 29, is a tough cookie behind her apparently fragile and youthful looks, as can be seen from Eldorado Xxi, the feature film she shot in the Peruvian mining town of La Rinconada, 5500m high in the Andes—a “nightmarish shoot” by her own admission. (And not the first one. While shooting in Transnistria for another project, the Kgb arrested and interrogated her and her crew.) Eldorado Xxi,...

In Cell by Cell, I look deeply into the panels of an issue, appreciating and analyzing the story and artistic composition.
Pages 19-20 Overview
This is it. The beginning of the end. The finale of the episode. Here comes the heartbreak.
Keeping the 2-page, symmetrical spread of the game scenes, these two pages kick off a 6-page action scene depicting the end of the scrimmage match between the N.C. team and the A.C.O. guards.
The antagonism continues to rise as a guard picks a fight with Penny. Unable to let the aggressions pass, Penny gets distracted from her defensive duty, allowing another team member to get double-teamed and escalating further violence with the guards.
Cell 1 is a close-up of a sweaty Meiko, smiling exactly like she was in the family picture at the end of the last page.

Here we are again after the Golden Globes, Mike Fleming and Anita Busch taking on the task of play by play during the most wide-open Oscar race we can remember. Even on the party circuit, industry insiders who usually have a grasp of who’ll walk away with Oscars were evenly torn between Alfonso Cuaron’s 3D masterpiece Gravity and Steve McQueen’s 12 Years A Slave. Then again, there were so many terrific films that got Best Picture nominations, and all of them have at least a puncher’s chance at an upset. Related: Oscars: Pete Hammond’s Absolute Final Predictions That includes American Hustle, where David O Russell co-wrote the Best Original Script nominee with Eric Warren Singer and got tour de force performances and nominations for Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. Perfs so strong there was no room on the nomination roster for perennial Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner.

Chicago – We’re back with the new releases on Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming services from the last week that we think are the most interesting. Our fearless leader, Adam Fendelman, will have a lot to say about “Mr. Nobody,” now On Demand, in coming weeks and we’ll include that in next week’s What to Watch, but these are the four new Blu-ray/DVD releases that are most likely to grab your attention.

“Room 237”
“Room 237” is a brilliant documentary because it’s not just about people who obsessively dissect film but actually recreates that feeling of going down the rabbit hole with them into their mindsets. “The Shining” is one of the most beloved horror movies ever made and any genre film with that kind of following is bound to engender detailed analysis. How detailed? You have No idea. A great...

If there’s one thing that coming of age films remind us of, it’s that life as a teenager can be a difficult time. They also remind us of a time when we thought we knew so much more than our parents, that what they deemed best for us was often seen in a negative light at such a young age. Of course, most teens aren’t going to take the radical step that the three main characters of The Kings of Summer take (running away to live on their own and be independent), but what youngster in a situation like theirs doesn’t have such a thought drift across their mind, however briefly?
Joe (Nick Robinson) is a teen living with his dad whose mother passed away some time ago. Ever since, his dad, Frank (Nick Offerman), has not been the same. He’s constantly getting mad with...

Comedian, podcaster, bon vivant, and all-around personality Eddie Pepitone has been one of the comedy world’s most unexpected success stories of the past few years. In a pop-culture world obsessed with youth, Pepitone has emerged as the Grandma Moses of comedy, a late-bloomer whose career only took off after he passed 50. Pepitone has been ubiquitous as of late, popping up on Community and 2 Broke Girls, turning up regularly on Conan (as a belligerent heckler) and live episodes of Wtf, and appearing alongside Sean Conroy, Jamie Flam, and Amber Kenny on The Long Shot Podcast. Now the story ...

Dark omens abound as “Luck” opens this week. Joey is at the end of his rope. An employee at the stables gets a phone call telling her that her son is dead, leading to yet another snipe-fest between Escalante and veterinarian Jo. Walter Smith gets what appears to be a very disturbing letter. Flocks of birds are swooping away, and the horses are whinnying and bucking. It can only mean that something big and scary is about to happen,...

I am not one to put too much stock in "scores" for Oscar Predictions. It's more exciting to predict something fewer people saw coming and this is why, I think I'm much better at "year in advance" predictions than most pundits; I don't always embrace the "sounds good on paper" options. But there's a flip side! My willingness to take risks always hurts my stats somewhere down the line. Nevertheless we have to take stock. It's fun to survey where you soared and plummeted each year. On average I'm completely happy with my track record. Here are my hits and misses!
I had a sensational batting average with Moneyball
My Perfect Scores
Supporting Actress. I knew Janet McTeer was stronger than people were guessing. She's a gender bender and Oscar loves drag. She totally steals the movie and Oscar loves Grand Theft Movie. Plus, it's a moving role with modern resonance.
