Glen Powell's star is on the rise. After wowing moviegoers with Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone But You, he'll take centre stage this summer in Hit Man and Twisters. Surely a superhero role is next?
You'd think so, but as GQ points out in a new profile on the actor, "Powell has no interest in playing a superhero." This comes after we recently learned he's also not interested in "Marvel fare."
Taking a journalist on a tour of the Warner Bros. lot, Powell pointed out the new Superman logo on the door of James Gunn's office. However, he wasn't among the actors who tried out for the Dcu's new Man of Steel.
"But I was on the set of Twisters with [newly-anointed Clark Kent] David Corenswet when he got the call," he reveals. "He’s a hustler and he deserves it."
"I was always a Batman guy," Powell later added. "I...

Batman: The Caped Crusader has gotten fans excited about Bruce Timm’s novel take on the Dark Knight. The animated show will take Bruce Wayne and other aspects of the Batman mythos and set them in the 40s, a time when Batman’s modern gadgets and gizmos simply did not exist.
Batman: Caped Crusader
Apart from Batman being stripped of all his gadgets, Caped Crusader will also be giving its other characters a slick 40’s makeover, among which is Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bruce Timm, co-creator of the show, revealed how the design of Catwoman was made distinct from her previous iterations.
Batman: Caped Crusader did not want to ape Batman: The Animated Series
Catwoman | DC Comics
Bruce Timm talked about how the characters that he and his team were introducing Caped Crusader needed to be different and feel as dated as the time they were in.

For years, fans have been debating over the politics incorporated in Christopher Nolan’s films, especially in his universally acclaimed The Dark Knight trilogy. However, according to the man himself, The Dark Knight trilogy is not supposed to be political but about the upending of society. But not everyone is convinced by the Oscar-winner’s explanation.

While there have been many recognizable stars who have played Batman on screen, the credit for the distinctive voice of the character in various animated series and video games goes to the late Kevin Conroy. Beginning his stint with Batman: The Animated Series in 1992, Conroy went on to voice the iconic superhero in many television series and video games for over 3 decades.

Arguably the best Batman and Joker combo in history is getting back together one last time, and the reunion comes as a pretty sizable surprise. Mark Hamill will once again reprise his role as The Joker alongside the late Kevin Conroy's Batman. Conroy voiced the Caped Crusader for decades, from "Batman: The Animated Series" in the early '90s through Conroy's much-too-early death in 2022. We knew Conroy's voice would be used as Batman once again, and now it has been confirmed that Hamill will be reuniting with his former co-star in one of Conroy's final posthumous performances.
According to IGN, Hamill's Joker and Conroy's Batman are both set to appear in the upcoming "Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths -- Part Three." The first part of the adaptation of the classic DC Comics storyline has already been released, with part two arriving in April. It's a big multiverse story,...

Kevin Conroy just made his final voice appearance as Batman in a new video, but it has many fans deeply disappointed with the results.
Conroy's last time playing the Caped Crusader comes in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (initially announced back in 2020 at DC FanDome), a game that has not been able to catch a break in its lead-up to launch.
Even on the day fans finally were able to get their hands on the title, developer Rocksteady Studios pulled early access to its Deluxe Edition one hour after it launched due to a bug that auto-completed players' games (per IGN).

The Clown Prince of Crime will never wreak havoc on Gotham again — at least not through one of his most famous portrayers. Mark Hamill has reiterated that he won’t return to play The Joker so long as Kevin Conroy is not his Batman.
As per a Q & A at Fan Expo San Francisco, Mark Hamill said his days of voicing The Joker are a thing of the past, telling attendees that he “won’t voice the role unless it’s opposite Kevin Conroy’s Batman.” He added, “Without Batman, crime has no punchline,” quoting the episode “The Man Who Killed Batman” from Batman: The Animated Series, the first time he played The Joker. This doubles down on previous statements Hamill made about reprising The Joker in relation to Conroy. “They would call and say, ‘They want you to do the Joker,’ and my only question was, ‘Is Kevin Batman?...

Sleater-Kinney have shared the details of Little Rope, their upcoming album out January 19th via Loma Vista. They’re celebrating the news with its lead single “Hell,” out now, along with an extensive run of 2024 tour dates.
The follow-up to 2021’s Path of Wellness is billed as “one of the finest, most delicately layered records” in Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein’s prolific discography. But in its complex, ambitious instrumentation is an unimaginable tragedy: Last fall, Brownstein received a call from Italian embassy staff with the news that both her mother and stepfather had been killed in a car accident during a vacation.
Some of Little Rope had been written at that point, but as Brownstein and Tucker brought the material to the studio, all the music they put to tape became imbued with grief. With each vocal harmony and guitar riff, the album navigates loss — not just its initial pang,...

It just might be the Batcave to end all Batcaves.
Lego announced Tuesday a new Batman Batcave building set, this time inspired by the 1992 Tim Burton-directed feature Batman Returns.
The new set is geared for the adult collector and is almost 4,000 pieces. And in a unique design format, the set builds into a shadow box that opens up to reveal a highly detailed Batcave with display pieces and Batman iconography. The furniture can be moved, images on the screen can be swapped, and the vault can be opened.
The shadow box “window” is in the form of the Bat-symbol, which offers a striking look into the headquarters of the world’s biggest superhero, with the linchpin of the set being the Batmobile, modeled after the Burton movies starring Michael Keaton (see the images below).

We’re reaching the business end of “The War of Jokes and Riddles.” However, when you think you know the direction in which Tom King is going, he pirouettes and does something completely different. Batman #27 isn’t only a continuation of the regular arc, but it also serves as an origin story for Kite Man. Yes, you read that right: Kite Man.
As the war gets out of hand, Batman intimidates Charles “Chuck” Brown, who worked on the Jokermobile, into getting a number for the Joker. Chuck goes to Floyd Lawton, Aka Deadshot, and gets the details for the Dark Knight. When the number proves to be untraceable, however, the Bat tells him to arrange a meeting with the Clown Prince of Crime instead, which he does. In the interim, the Riddler kidnaps and threatens Chuck into telling him when the meeting is taking place.

So far, Chuck Dixon and Graham Nolan’s Bane: Conquest has been a fantastic series, checking all the boxes and delivering on all its initial promises. Now that we’ve settled in and gotten used to the idea of Batman and Bane teaming up, it’s time for another spanner to be thrown into the works. Did you really think that the villain would play nice with his longtime adversary?
The Dark Knight and his Venom-loving associate agree on a pact: they’ll collaborate (for now), with Batman searching for Dionysus and Bane drawing out Damocles. As expected, the muscleman destroys all his opponents, killing without remorse and breaking Damocles in the process. When he joins up with the Caped Crusader, however, the Santa Prisca monster wants to kill Dionysus, which is something that the Bat will not allow.
This leads to a brawl between the two of them,...
