Chris Sloan has stepped down as head of reality and alternative programming at CBS after four months on the job. Sloan, who served as vp alternative programming, will segue into a producing deal with CBS, developing unscripted projects for the network. No replacement for Sloan has been named, but Nancy Daniels, director in the CBS alternative programming department, is considered among the contenders for the job. Sources indicated that Sloan's desire to be closer to the creative than to the administrative side of the business prompted his decision to step down, and it is not related to the sub-par debut last week of CBS' new reality series The Will, which already has been canceled, and Wickedly Perfect. Both series were put in development before Sloan joined CBS in September. Before going to CBS, Sloan served as vp production at TLC and senior vp reality programming and specials at USA Network.
