New Delhi, Nov 26: Singer-composer Sandeep Chowta is happy that his latest album "Matters Of The Heart", a compilation of mostly jazz numbers, has received a good response in times when Bollywood and international pop tops the charts.
Chowta, known for creating memorable tunes for films like "Mast", "Bollywood Hollywood", "Rakht", "Om Shanti Om" and "Housefull", has collaborated with international musicians like Dave Grusin, Tom Schuman, Chuck Loeb and more for the new album.

The last few years we have been witnessing this trend of young talented singers who hope to get noticed by putting up videos on YouTube singing their own version of several current hit songs. Think of Sam Tsui, Nataly Dawn and Esmee Denters, and of course one of the most famous examples, who now has a succesfull singing career, is that of teen idol Justin Bieber, who got noticed by Usher.
It seems that now in India we have found one young talented boy named Armaan Malik. Malik gained a lot of curiosity and a lot of views in the last few months when he released his version of Bruno Mars’ song ‘Just the Way You Are’.
The video went viral on Twitter and Facebook, after actress Priyanka Chopra praised the 16-year old and has since then been viewed more than 60000 times. Armaan is really happy with the response he...

The Telugu maverick director S S Rajmouli releases his Telugu smasher Eega in a Hindi, 3D version done specially for the Hindi release around Diwali. Interestingly, Son Of Sardaar is a remake of Rajmouli's other Telugu superhit Maryada Ramanna. So essentially Rajmouli would be competing with himself this Diwali. But the question now is, would the Rajmouli remake be able to stand up to the unexpected competition from the Rajmouli original? South's phenomenal filmmaker S S Rajmouli whose Telugu blockbusters were recently turned into Rowdy Rathore and the forthcoming Son Of Sardaar, and who refuses to be lured by lucre into making Hindi films, is all set to make a grand backdoor entry into Bollywood. The Telugu film Eega about a villainous tycoon (Kannada actor Sudeep who was seen in Ram Gopal Varma's Phook, Rann and Rakta Charitra) who kills the beloved of the girl he covets only to...

Just recently we reported that filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma had landed in trouble for his film Rakht Charitra. And today we hear that a script writer has filed a police complaint against Rgv for not paying him his dues for the film Department.
The complaint states that script writer Danish Raza was contacted by Neeraj Sharma from Ramu's office around June-July 2010, to write screenplay of Department. However, despite starting and completing work on the film, he didn't got paid.
However the case doesn't end there. Apparently, Danish was later told in Feb 2011, that Department was shelved due to fund issues and that Ramu has got busy with his next project, Not A Love Story. It was then that Danish gave up on pursuing his payment and left for Delhi. But later when he saw that the promos and stills of the movie were out, he came back to Mumbai...

This isn't a trend with Bollywood films but it may well turn out to be the case for Shootout At Wadala. With continued research resulting in quite a few startling facts about the advent of underworld during the late 70s/early 80s with encounters beginning to take an organised shape, the available material is turning out to be so exhaustive that Shoot Out At Wadala could well be made as a two part film. As writer-director Sanjay Gupta tries to bind it all together, he isn't closing the option of making his film a two-part affair. "The film is turning out to be much bigger than it was originally envisaged. After Shootout At Lokhandwala, Sanjay Gupta as well as his co-producer Ekta Kapoor were clear that next in the franchise had to be bigger and better. With an interesting tale in hand around the real life incidents that had happened in Mumbai during the 70s,...

Trust Ram Gopal Varma to come up with blood curdling sagas. Rakht Charitra had blood in practically every frame of the film and one can well expect the saga to repeat itself in his new offering Not A Love Story as well. Though the colour of blood may not be occupying every corner of the screen, Ramu promises that he would be pretty much psyching the audience with the sense of crime looming large as it is based on a true love story that involved a murder. When it comes to bio-pics Ram Gopal Varma likes to go the whole hog. For Rakht Charitra the Satya-vadi director took his leading man Vivek Oberoi to meet the people close to the outlawed-politician Paritala Ravi whom Oberoi played in the film. The interaction created much controversy and raised eyebrows in and around Ravi’s home-town Ananthpur in Andhra Pradesh. Now just when Varma finished shooting for his new bio-pic on Maria Susairaj, he has pulled off an ‘encounter’ coup of sorts. Actress Mahie Gill who plays Susairaj will be meeting the real Susairaj ...

The biggest chartbuster of the year came from the the low profile Lalit Pandit whose Munni badnaam hui instantly joined the ranks of the ritiziest item songs in Bollywood, on a par with Kajra re and Beedi jalay le.It also catapulted the sizzling Malaika Arora to dizzying heights of glory. Malaika will now dance only for her husband producer Arbaaz Khan.s films and will of course endorse the brand of balm that the song so seductively talks about.Brand endorsement and Bollywood became inextricably bonded in 2010.When stars were not shooting feature films(and many of the leading ladies were not) they were shooting ads. And when they weren.t shooting ads they were shooting their mouths off to the media .Otherwise there was always the stage performances.Besides A R Rahman.s world tour there were no major world-concert tours from Bollywood in 2010. 2011 will see Ranbir Kapoor...

Vivek Oberoi will next be seen in Ram Gopal Verma's epic 2 part film Rakht Charitra. The film according to Rgv is, "inspired from the life of Paritala Ravi from South India who was assassinated in January, 2005. Ravi's name sent shivers up the spines of not only his rivals but even the law enforcement agencies. He was a rebel, a feudal lord, a robin hood, a killer of hundreds and saviour of thousands till the day he was gunned down by a death squad allegedly put together by his arch rival Suri, who wanted to avenge his father's and brother's deaths, in a bizarre déja vu". Suri is being played by the incredible south actor Surya.
