Mmmmm, canddddyyyy...
This movie is absolutely delightful. I love projects like this, where artists take things and make them into something else, in this case many various candies into various stop-motion animations or stop-motion mixed with drawing.
I won't get into all of the directors' various approaches to it, but some of them are very surprising. I think out of all of them I like the early one which has the piles of candy forming into faces.
This is the type of short that in a weird sense has a built in audience of just about everybody. People all into film can get into it as a mode of representation, animators and artists can appreciate the color and design, art buffs can compare the different approaches, and people just looking for something fun to watch can be impressed with all the different stuff that gets included. All ages welcome, in a sense.
I mean, who doesn't like candy? --PolarisDiB
