True believing Christian cults are frightening enough, but antichrist-Christian cults are confoundingly so. The Devil You Know, Vice Studios’ six-part documentary series moves into its second season with its eyes on the New Age Alien Agenda.Their first season introduced audiences to Pazuzu Algarad, a killer who worshipped Satan. The new installments blur demonic relationships even further.
Before QAnon infiltrated the collective unconscious of susceptible seekers, Sherry J. Shriner used Facebook and YouTube as a breeding ground to groom impressionable minds into followers of an anti-lizard cult. Most of the youngsters who got caught up in the movement never harbored any prejudice against lizards prior to their indoctrination. Some may have even envied their amphibian prowess. But once Shriner told them about the mind control and body-snatching, and how they wanted to bring about the rule of the Antichrist, they became radicalized.

Normally the folks behind Honest Trailers are taking shots at movies new and old, but this year, they couldn’t help but take aim at the live-action adaptation of The Book of Revelation that encompasses the year 2020. Now that we’re officially in 2021, we can maybe have a bit of a laugh about how unbearable […]

Tom Long.
Boston-born, Australian-raised actor Tom Long, whose credits include the series East of Everything, SeaChange and Young Lions and the movies The Dish and Two Hands, died from encephalitis on Saturday, aged 51.
Long was forced to quit acting after he collapsed on stage during a performance of the play Coranderrk: We Will Show the Country at the Sydney Opera House in July 2012.
Diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, he underwent chemotherapy, bone marrow transplants and natural therapies to treat the disease.
He was in remission after going to the Us last April for a medical trial in which his T cells were harvested and genetically modified to attack his cancer cells.
Screenwise CEO Denise Roberts said: “He fought the hard fight and was given the all clear. The happiness and relief pulled out from under him. So unfair.”

Warning: major spoilers ahead for Game of Thrones!
Of the many unpredictable, borderline absurd moments in the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones, Arya encountering a traumatized white horse and riding away into the ashy figurative sunset is perhaps the biggest head-scratcher. Where did this lone horse come from? Is it the only other living creature within the walls of King's Landing? Did the horse belong to the not-so-dearly departed leader of the Golden Company, Harry Strickland? Has Bran Stark warged into the horse to save Arya from the rubble? And most importantly, what does the horse - and Arya's relationship to it - mean for the series finale?
There are plenty of ideas about what the horse symbolizes, but one theory with Biblical origins stands out: the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
The Book of Revelation introduces the concept of the Four Horsemen, each on his own horse, and each representing something different.

Just in case you were feeling mildly optimistic when the world did not end in December, as some Mayan predictions were interpreted, there's a new show detailing plenty of other ways this planet can be annihilated.
Not content to document what happens when nature goes on a rampage, The Weather Channel premieres "Forecasting the End" Thursday, March 21. The show contains just enough science to make it plausible. But when you analyze the events, well, they are not terribly likely.
"All of these shows play with a what-if scenario," Ben McGee, a geoscientist on the show, tells Zap2it. "They are statistically possible. In my mind, the fun part of the exercise is playing the scenario forward and playing with the education hook. A low probability, high impact, which is what you need to get people's attention."
The first episode, though, is timely, considering the recent destruction caused by a meteorite in Russia.

Veteran Australian producer Al Clark will receive the Aacta Raymond Longford Award in recognition of his three-decade career which has included iconic films such as Chopper and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
Clark, who emigrated from the UK in the 1980s after representing music acts such as the Sex Pistols and Phil Collins, has produced or executive produced 19 feature films. He has also served on the board of the Australian Film Commission (1989-1992) and participated in official juries of several international film festivals, including the San Sebastian and Valladolid Film Festivals.
..With a love of films that always transcends the frustrations of getting them made, I.ve tried to choose distinctive projects, to navigate them soundly, to find gifted people to work with, and to bring out the best in their considerable talents," Clark said after being told of the award. Well, I can.t believe it.s been almost a decade since graduating from drama school and almost a decade since I.ve done any further drama study. I mean, I.ve worked closely with dialect coaches over the years and privately with teachers preparing auditions, but in terms of flexing the muscle in a classroom environment I haven.t done much.
Having spent the last two pilot seasons in La, it.s incredible to see the commitment actors make to the evolution of their craft. It.s not unusual to find professional actors taking two classes a week alongside their usual filming or stage commitments. That.s before their regular voice class, Alexander class and weekly session with a therapist which, according to renowned American acting coach, Larry Moss, are a must.
It.s funny, but in my late-teens and early-20s I couldn.t get enough of everything .drama.. There was Atyp,...

And - will it still be scary on 11-12-11?
Darren Lynn Bousman (he directed Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV, Repo! The Genetic Opera, and the as-yet-unreleased Mother's Day) is all religious.
I didn't know that. I have kind-of been ignoring synopses of the movie, and today the latest trailer, posted by Bousman himself, is online. So, this movie, based on the trailer, is about a hot guy who visits Spain where his father is dying. I think. Them, there's a gorgeous woman with a British-y accent who helps him through a series of nightmarish visions, and a cute priest who tells him, "yes, I believe in the Devil," and a series of repetitive numbers (11,11,11...) that keep occurring.
Here's the official synopsis:

The release of Lucky McKee’s The Woman has revived an age-old debate in the modern history of horror and suspense films; a debate that poses the question, can a movie deal realistically with the subject of rape, without exploiting the act as well as its victim?
I personally have always felt that, if a film is going to depict any form or degree of sexual assault, it should deal in depth with the trauma that the victim suffers as the result of the violent, life-shattering act that she has endured. The film should treat the victim as a human being, not as an object of aggression-driven fantasy.
Interestingly enough, one of the few films that accomplishes this mission was directed by a woman. More surprising is the fact that, in The Book of Revelation,...

When you have sold over 100 million copies in 47 languages and your books are taught in almost every 4th and 5th grade reading classes across the globe for their easy thematic interpretations, you would think adapting a series on the big screen wouldn’t be a hard thing to do. Unfortunately, Disney and Fox, rendered themselves to the creative group led by producer Mark Johnson, who just didn’t get the series’ tone, feel and thematic sensibilities right, especially in a time where we have already gotten an almost perfect adaptation of Lord of the Rings and a great series adaptation of Harry Potter.
After the third installment, delayed almost an extra year due to a studio change, mustered an embarrassing $27 million dollar opening this week, I think it’s time the rights holders, whether it be Johnson or Fox Walden, seriously evaluate their action plan for the future of the franchise.

Australian director Ana Kokkinos (Head On, The Book of Revelation) returns this week with a new drama that follows several groups of children and their mothers on a long, grueling night in Melbourne. Entitled Blessed, it's split into two halves -- the first focused on the children and the second returning to the situations from the perspective of their mothers. Frances O'Connor, Miranda Otto and beautiful Kate's Sophie Lowe feature in a heavy hitting drama that builds toward a hopeful catharsis. Rt caught up with Kokkinos ahead of the film's release this week.
