The Baker brothers head to Blackpool for a family funeral. Eddie's business deal has gone wrong so he Mike can't return. Inheriting part of the family Pleasure Beach business is their one chance but cousin Danny wants to buy them out.
Eddie is fed up and quits working on horse racing stalls. Danny is offered the chance to invest in Ray Hartley's property free-holding. Now a barman Eddie, unwittingly, befriends Hartley and discovers the free-holding worthless.
Eddie discovers an up and coming band, Junction 32 and wants Mike to join him as their manager. Mike has started to become close to his cousin Theresa but the band's lead singer Chris is an old flame who she still has feeling for.
Eddie saves Danny's wife Julie, from unwanted attention of two men on Blackpool sea front. The men work for Dave Don Quaid, a former jailbird who has become a celebrity due to his poetry reading. Has Quaid changed or is it a front?
Mike impresses Conservative MP Sir Howard Nash with his business plans for Blackpool. Unfortunately Eddie meets a young girl who claims Nash had took advantage of her and decides to sell her story to a national newspaper to get even.
Eddie meets Stan, a friend of Maria's. He is nearing retirement, from running his film shop, and wants to sell up. Eddie gets Stan to teach him the business. Mike gets spotted by Anna Milburn who wants to use him in a promotional film.
Danny returns from a business trip to discover that Theresa and Mike have quit to start an Italian restaurant. An old face from Eddie's past spots him and alerts the London gang he crossed. They arrive in Blackpool to settle a score.
