George R.R. Martin is known for his A Song of Ice and Fire book series, which would become the legendary HBO series Game of Thrones. The writer has been in the business for decades and has contributed his storytelling to multiple franchises, including the Wild Card anthology series of novels as well as the Elden Ring games.
Martin’s writing in Game of Thrones is known for its merciless killing of fan-favorite characters. Fans at the time were surprised by an important death in each season and many times the arcs of these characters were not even complete before their demise. The author mentioned that when he was younger, he loved The Avengers #9 comics because of one character’s death.

When Calls the Heart shines when it focuses on relationships.
The Hope Valley community remains the best of the series, and spoilers for When Calls the Heart Season 11 Episode 5 tease that certain relationships will be tested and others strengthened as various truths are revealed.
After the drama in When Calls the Heart Season 11 Episode 4, Elizabeth's relationships with Lucas and Nathan come to a head. Will she finally get some closure with Lucas and decide to move on with Nathan?
It seems like Nathan and Elizabeth have started inching toward romance, but their relationship lately has been filled with misunderstandings, and the spoilers tease that they have yet another one.
Before Elizabeth can move on, though, she must talk to Lucas about what happened with them and if they will co-exist in Hope Valley without awkward run-ins.
Lucas changes the subject every time someone mentions Elizabeth, which contradicts the notion that he's moved on.

Well, I know what song is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day. First reported by The Insneider, Jennifer Aniston is producing a reimagining of 9 to 5 for 20th Century Studios. The iconic 1980 movie starred Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, and Jane Fonda as three women who join forces to take revenge on their sexist, egotistical boss. Of course, the movie also featured the iconic theme song written and performed by Parton, which became one of the biggest hits of the decade.
Jennifer Aniston will produce the 9 to 5 reimagining through her Echo Films banner, along with her partner Kristin Hahn. Lisa Frankenstein screenwriter Diablo Cody will pen the script for the project, and although plot details are being kept under wraps, it’s assumed it will more or less follow the beats of the original.

While Dolly Parton has enjoyed nearly everything her career has thrown at her, she still has to deal with the less glamorous sides of celebrity. Over the years, Parton has received a series of death threats. Her method of handling these has varied, but early in her career they greatly alarmed her. She turned down an exciting opportunity because of a series of threats to her life.

Captain Sandy Yawn returns for Below Deck Med Season 9 this summer with some new and familiar faces.
It was a shock to learn that Below Deck Med was returning for Season 9 so quickly after Season 8 had just ended.
However, this week, Bravo dropped the bombshell that instead of Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 hitting Bravo airwaves this summer, Below Deck Med will air.
The new season brings back fan favorite Aesha Scott to the Med after she helped launch Below Deck Down Under Season 2.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Aesha broke her silence and went back to where it all began for her.
There is one other familiar face on the crew that’s mainly filled with new yachties.

This article contains spoilers for Ahsoka, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Ahsoka hasn’t yet been officially renewed for another season, but with all of the loose threads left by the season 1 finale, it’s hard not to dream about where season 2 could take these characters.
With Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson), Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno), and Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) now stranded on Peridea and Thrawn (Lars Mikkelson) returning home with an army of entombed Nightsisters in tow, there is a lot at stake across not just one, but two galaxies. Now that the Nightsisters have officially made a comeback in the New Republic era, I can’t think of a better character to bring into Ahsoka than Nightsister Merrin (Tina Ivlev).

Nick Oliveri has announced two career-spanning compilations, N.O. Hits at All Vols. 8 and 9, continuing his running series of the same name. Both arrive January 19th via Heavy Psych Sounds.

“Slash wrote the music and Eric Valentine and myself wrote the words,” said Oliveri in a press release. “I feel the song is hard-driving and it has the right amount of uncensored dirt, filth, sex,...

In classic Trek tradition, there's always a filler episode (or three) in any given season, and at least one is a classic clip show.
Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 4 Episode 8 manages to give the trope of a clip show a twist in that its clips are all new scenes.
No, there's no development in the mysterious vessel's long-arc plot, but our Fab Four get to bond and revisit what makes them such great friends to begin with.
It's a fact that before Mariner ever moans about their away mission, there are over Thirty separate cave-based adventures in televised Trek history (including Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 1 Episode 8 And Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 3 Episode 3.)
Furthermore, caves have played major roles in multiple Trek motion pictures. So Mariner's got a point. Caves are kind of over-represented as far as landforms go.
Clip shows are a great device for bringing back recurring characters by rehashing old footage.

ABC’s Bachelor in Paradise Season 9 fans were shocked to see Hannah Brown in the initial trailer (writers at Showbiz Cheat Sheet included). Hannah had a tough go at being The Bachelorette, as her engagement with Jed Wyatt didn’t work out. So, is she back on the beach for love? Here’s what to know about whether Hannah Brown’s single in 2023 and why she’s appearing on the show.
Is Hannah Brown single in 2023?
Bachelor in Paradise Season 9 features former Bachelorette star Rachel Recchia on the beach looking for love, but early trailers indicated Hannah Brown also takes to the beach. As an avid Bachelor Nation viewer, I loved watching Hannah’s season — though it didn’t pan out well for her. While Hannah chose Jed Wyatt, Jed had questionable reasons for appearing on the show in the first place. Unsurprisingly, Hannah and Jed cut off their engagement.

You have to squint awfully hard to see a unifying plot theme on Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 4 Episode 4, but it's not impossible.
While the women are having their Orion adventure -- engaging in deadly drinking games, exploring hump dungeons, and examining the perils of defying expectations (mostly lots of stabbing) -- the guys have to delve deep into conflict resolution strategies.
It's a delightful reversal of traditional gender norms and a helluva hoot at the same time.
It's a matter of record that while Orions have been represented in multiple Trek series and films, they are a species never truly included in core Starfleet until D'vana Tendi joined the Cerritos.
Over the run of Lower Decks, she has refuted many of the stereotypes that have persisted ever since Tos Kirk cut his swath through a cross-section of female aliens.

If the "John Wick" films are any indication, action heroes could always use a little canine companionship. It just so happens that there's a long-standing aspect of law enforcement where the dog and human relationship is already built-in: The K-9 unit.
You've likely seen numerous buddy cop movies, and even a handful of K-9 films. However, those movies tend to lean heavily on the comedy aspects of man's best friend fighting bad guys. Witness the old Rin Tin Tin series, or the films "K-9" and "Turner & Hooch," for starters. Even last year's Channing Tatum vehicle with the world's most inspired title, "Dog," milked its military mutt more for melodrama than action.
That all changes with "Muzzle," a new film from director John Stalberg Jr. that stars Aaron Eckhart as K-9 cop Jake Rosser. When Jake loses his pup partner, Ace, after a deadly shootout with drug dealers, he...

"Fire me. I could care less." Rlje Films has unveiled an official trailer for Muzzle, a dog thriller starring Aaron Eckhart. This is the latest film directed by a filmmaker named John Stalberg Jr., who first made his mark with the stoner comedy High School back in 2010. How's this for a wild pitch: LAPD K-9 officer Jake Rosser and his K-9 partner Ace battle it out on the streets of LA when they get into a shootout with local gangsters and Ace is shot. In a moment of crisis, Jake assaults an Emt, resulting in him taking leave from the force. Blocked by Internal Affairs, muzzled by his own superiors from finding the shooter's identity, Jake resolves to go rogue and partners with “Socks”, a violent K-9 with titanium incisors and a mysterious past. Jake and Socks uncover a vast conspiracy that has a chokehold on the city,...

For queer pop culture fanatics, Netflix’s “Glamorous” is the gift that keeps on giving.
Beyond the homages to everything from “9 to 5” and “Clue” (including a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it reference to Jade’s infamous Cover Girl commercial on “America’s Next Top Model”) and an early aughts party so dead-on it will induce vertigo in viewers of a certain age, there’s also Miss Benny’s wardrobe as assistant Marco, newly hired at Glamorous by Madolyn as Madolyn Addison’s assistant. (Even the name of Kim Cattrall’s character feels like a reference to Meryl Streep’s Madeline Ashton in gay cult classic “Death Becomes Her.”)
A gender-nonconforming queer man, Marco begins as a struggling makeup vlogger and ends in full glam, complete with a twinkling pantsuit straight from the Nicole Kidman for AMC collection. For a show that lives up to its name and for a non-binary character, the fits...

Los Angeles, July 20 (Ians) Actor John Boyega has not been particularly happy with the recent direction that ‘Star Wars’ has taken and has openly criticised the sequel trilogy many times, especially after the premiere of ‘Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi’.
However, the actor, who portrayed First Order stormtrooper turned Resistance fighter Finn in the sequel trilogy, has said that he is more than open to doing more ‘Star Wars’ movies if given the opportunity.
The actor had previously critcised the makers for their treatment of black characters, lazy writing and lack of imagination, particularly in ‘Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker’.
The actor had accused the makers and studio of capitalising on casting racially diverse characters, particularly black characters before completely sidelining them from the story.

Dolly Parton is America’s sweetheart, but she has a mischievous side. Growing up, she enjoyed playing pranks. She also enjoyed shocking people. One day, she thought it’d be funny to moon her sister’s boyfriend.
Dolly Parton often sang for her sister’s boyfriend
Dolly’s sister Willadeene was an early fan of the “Coat of Many Colors” singer’s voice. She enjoyed her little sister’s voice so much that when her boyfriend Arthur Blalock, Jr. (who they called June or Junie Blalock) would come pick her up for a date, she’d ask Dolly to sing for him.

For the longest time, animation has been hindered by a misguided notion that animated movies are meant for kids. Sure, there have always been popular outliers like the infamous Fritz the Cat and 1981’s Heavy Metal, but it was only recently that animation began to be legitimized by the industry at large (even if that’s mostly due to a handful of auteurs like Guillermo del Toro publicly defending animation as a medium instead of a genre).
Unfortunately, this means that plenty of edgier animated projects ended up slipping through the cracks over the years, with general audiences usually favoring family-oriented entertainment over experimental stories dealing with more mature themes. One such project is Shane Acker’s underrated 2009 thriller 9, a post-apocalyptic adventure that deserved more attention and pushed its PG-13 rating to the absolute limit.

After the surprise tease at the end of Fast X, Universal is making it official: Dwayne Johnson is back for another Fast and Furious movie.

The new project also marks a return for Morgan, who sat out F9 and Fast X but penned six of the main franchise movies as well as the 2019 spinoff, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, which starred Johnson and Jason Statham.
Johnson will also produce this Fast project with his Seven Bucks Productions partners Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia. Interestingly, joining Johnson on the producers list is Fast star and steward Diesel, who will produce with Samantha Vincent...

English actor Thomas William Hiddleston — aka Tom Hiddleston — made his TV debut in the 2001 British TV film ‘The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby.’ And although we didn’t get to see his character — Lord — a lot, the appearance opened several doors for Hiddleston. The same year, he was featured in another TV film, “Conspiracy.” However, his fame seems to have come following his role as the Marvel Cinematic Universe character Loki — the God of Mischief.
Sadly, last year, Hiddleston hinted that his tenure as Loki was concluded, and someone else would replace him. In an interview with Variety, he said, “I’m a temporary torchbearer. Garth Brooks named Dolly Parton the Goat of country music, Chris Stapleton won his first-ever entertainer of the year title and Lainey Wilson continued her rise to stardom at the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards.
Parton closed the two-hour awards show Thursday with a performance of her rock anthem “World on Fire,” taken from her upcoming rock debut Rock Star. The song features lyrics like, “Don’t get me started on politics/Now how are we to live in a world like this?”
Fire burst from the stage during the performance, which featured a full band and 10 dancers.
“Country music’s rock star,” co-host Brooks said as he introduced the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and fellow host.

Exclusive: Pitch Perfect and The Hustle star Rebel Wilson is set to star in action-comedy film Bride Hard from director Simon West (Expendables 2) for a Cannes market launch.
The film follows “badass secret agent Sam (Wilson) who has been tasked with one of her hardest missions yet – being a Maid of Honor for her childhood best friend”.
Screenplay was written by Shaina Steinberg from a story by Steinberg and CeCe Pleasants. WME Independent will handle worldwide sales.
Balcony 9 Productions will be producing and financing. Producers include Joel David Moore and Max Osswald (Some Other Woman), Cassian Elwes (Mudbound), and Colleen Camp (Knock Knock).
“Bride Hard combines action, adventure and comedy. These are genres I love to mix together. I’ve done it in the past with films like Expendables 2 or even going back to Con-Air and Tomb Raider,” said West. “I think audiences will love this. It operates on so many levels.

Updated: The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards managed to see an uptick in viewers compared to last year despite a few last minute hiccups.
Just one day after Drew Barrymore pulled out as host of the awards show in support of striking writers, MTV pivoted away from a live event in favor of a pre-taped show for its annual awards. Still, the show was watched by 1.8M people on Sunday across simulcasts, which is a 9% increase compared to the 2022 show, according to Nielsen data.
The ceremony was also up among viewers in the ad friendly 18-49 demographic. This year, the telecast received a 1.28 rating, up from the 1.27 it earned the year prior.
Paramount also says that the show’s “total minutes consumed” tallied 516M. That’s a 5% increase from last year’s 493M.
“The team and I are proud to have successfully pivoted and delivered on what our fans have come...
