Danny Trejo (Dead in Tombstone) is back as the tortured and deadly ex-Federale in Machete Kills.
Director Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World) spins another campy tale for Machete Cortez in this action movie. Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Blue, White and Red receive the Criterion treatment this November.
Legendary Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Three Colors trilogy, a boldly cinematic trio of stories about love and loss, was a defining event of the art house boom of the 1990s. The films — Blue (1993), White (1993) and Red (1994) — were named for the colors of the French flag and stand for the tenets of the French Revolution: liberty, equality and fraternity. But that only hints at the film’s beauty, richness and humanity.
Set in Paris, Warsaw and Geneva, Blue, White, and Red (Kieślowski’s final film) range from tragedy to drama to comedy. They follow a group of ambiguously interconnected people experiencing profound personal disruptions.
Marked by intoxicatingly lush cinematography and memorable performances by such actors as Juliette Binoche (Chocolat), Julie Delpy (Guilty Hearts), Irène Jacob (Beyond the Clouds) and...

London -- Menhaj Huda's London-set urban horror flick "Comedown" has been picked up for U.K. distribution by Studio Canal-owned Brit indie Optimum Releasing.
The deal was sealed by London-based sales house Av Pictures, which repped the title during this year's recent American Film Market.
Huda will direct from a screenplay by Steven Kendall, which is set against a London backdrop of abandonment and decay.
It details the story of six youths setting up a relay aerial for a local pirate radio station at the top of a condemned tower block who are targeted by a resident psychopath intent on exterminating the vermin he perceives are besieging his home.
Cast includes Martin Compston, Red Madrell and Adam Deacon. The kids' nemesis will be played by Geoff Bell.
Due to shoot here in March 2010, the project is produced by Dominic Norris ("Guilty Hearts") for Serotonin Films and Gareth Wiley...

Comedown, an urban horror pic set in London, is the latest project of producers Dominic Norris ("Guilty Hearts") and Gareth Wiley ("Vicky Cristina Barcelona"). The pic, which takes place in a condemned tower block, was penned by Steven Kendall and will be helmed by Menhaj Huda, whose first feature "Kidulthood" won him recognition. It's about six youths who are targeted by a psychopath when trying to set up a relay aerial for a local pirate radio station. Cast includes Geoff Bell from Guy Ritchie's "RocknRolla" and Martin Compston ("Red Road"). Norris said, "Comedown will be a tense and truly terrifying film that will take audiences on a journey with a set of characters they wouldn't necessarily expect to be rooting for." London-based sales outfit Av Pictures has picked up worldwide sales rights to the pic and will be launching it to buyers at Afm.
