The Dracula 2000 episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? was Written by Emilie Black, Narrated by Adam Walton, Edited by Victoria Verduzco, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Horror in the year 2000 was something. Yeah, that’s it, it was something. A lot of it happened, some of it was great, some of it was good, and some of it, not so much. Actually, if the internet crowd is to be believed, the early 2000s, especially the year 2000 were abysmal for horror. We did get a few memorable films released in 2000 like the first Final Destination film, Cherry Falls, Ginger Snaps, The Cell, and American Psycho. However, the scales had some serious bad on the other side to balance it all out. Films like Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, Hellraiser: Inferno, Christina’s House, and Dracula 2000 (watch it Here) came and...

With movies like the revenge-via-circular-saw High Tension and the skin-shredding Piranha remake, director Alexandre Aja has memorably dunked his characters in the blood bucket. But Aja’s next project, an adaptation of The 9th Life of Louis Drax, is more a supernatural thriller than a blood-and-bones picture, and principal photography on the film has now begun.
“Vancouver and London, October 27, 2014 – Miramax, the global film and television producer and distributor, along with the film’s producers AntColony Films and Brightlight Pictures announced today the start of principal photography on the supernatural thriller The 9th Life of Louis Drax starring Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey, The Fall), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Need for Speed, Triple Nine) and Sarah Gadon (Dracula Untold, The Amazing Spider-man 2).
Joining Dornan, Paul and Gadon in supporting roles are Oliver Platt (X-Men: First Class, Chef, Frost/Nixon) playing Louis Drax’s psychologist, Dr. Perez; Molly Parker (House of Cards,...

We live in a world in which pointless sequels are thrown at us like balls being hurled at an annoying clown in a dunking tank. Yes, that's a given, but sometimes even we have to wonder just what in the world goes through people's minds.
Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Fox Home Entertainment is moving on a sequel to the 2008 teen-friendly snoozer The Haunting of Molly Hartley. The new film, entitled, The Exorcism of Molly Hartley, will see I Spit on Your Grave's Steven R. Monroe taking on directing duties.
Haley Bennett played Molly in the first film. No word on if she’ll return.
Here's our hope... Steven R. Monroe. Please take this to the darkest, most ghastly and horrific place possible. We love you... love us back!
Apparently the sequel follows Molly Hartley, who, after a night of heavy partying, finds her friends butchered. While locked in a mental hospital for observation,...

From random films with altered names to unrelated storylines, we take a look at 15 incredibly tenuous horror and sci-fi film sequels...
The profit-driven nature of filmmaking usually means that, if a movie's a hit, sequels follow. And it's sometimes the case that, particularly in the realm of low-budget sci-fi and horror, those sequels are trotted out in a rush, or don't have anything to do with the film they're following.
This isn't to say that the sequels on this list are necessarily bad - it's a proper mixed bag of the great, the mediocre and the downright awful - but in each instance, these sequels have only vague links to their predecessors, or worse still, they're entirely different films rebranded to fit an existing franchise.
Our list is by no means definitive - rather, we've chosen a collection of films that we find the most memorable.

Writing the obituary of someone who has died after a long life and fulfilling career is difficult; but when the subject dies young, the spectre of tragedy is cast that much longer. Cory Monteith, best known for his work on Glee, was just 31.Raised in Calgary, Canada, Cory Allan Michael Monteith caught the bug for performing at an early age, but didn’t necessarily consider an acting career until a casting director spotted him. He dropped out of the school in his mid-teens and began working odd jobs while playing the drums in a local band.Once his acting career was up and running, however, he threw himself into the work, moving to Vancouver to appear in the likes of Stargate Atlantis, Supernatural, Smallville and Kyle Xy. Cinematically, he was cast in such films as White Noise 2: The Light, Final Destination 3 and Bloody Mary. "I call myself a working-class actor,...

Once again, the spirit world is restless in The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia. Getting a limited release alongside VOD platforms on February 1st, Ghosts of Georgia finds Andy Wyrick (Chad Michael Murray), his wife Lisa (Abigail Spencer), daughter Heidi (Emily Alyn Lind) and his sister-in-law Joyce (Katee Sackhoff) moving into their new Georgia home. What they never could have anticipated is the terrifying secret the grounds hold or the malevolent presence that threatens them all. Director Tom Elkins (editor of The Apparition, Haunting in Connecticut and White Noise 2: The Light) spoke exclusively to me by phone about crafting a spooky ghost story.
You’ve edited quite a few horror movies. What made this an interesting vehicle for your directorial debut?

If you’re a geek or a horror fan, you probably already know the name Katee Sackhoff pretty well. She’s been in everything from Halloween: Resurrection and White Noise 2: The Light to Nip/Tuck and 24, but the talented young actress really made her name as “Starbuck” on the critically acclaimed reboot of Battlestar Galactica. Well, you’re about to see a whole lot more of Sackhoff as she stars in the upcoming Riddick, alongside Vin Diesel and Karl Urban, and A&E’s western drama Longmire.
With her latest film, The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia, set to hit theaters this Friday, FEARnet sat down with Sackhoff to discuss her latest film, real life ghosts, and “that guy from Jaws.”
I really enjoyed your performance in the film. How did you land the role of Joyce?

The Terminator franchise, which has been dormant onscreen since 2009’s Salvation, has nevertheless been clanking away in development. Annapurna Pictures’ Megan Ellison paid a fortune for the rights a few years ago, and has since teamed up with brother David’s Skydance Pictures. Now Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier have been hired to write a script for the next instalment.Kalogridis’ name is familiar to fans of Terminator godfather James Cameron because she worked on the script and produced the first Avatar. She also wrote and produced Scorsese's Shutter Island and scripted Alexander for Oliver Stone.Interestingly, she also has a “Special Thanks” credit on a little film called Dracula 2000, directed by one Patrick Lussier. He’s also been behind such films as Drive Angry, My Bloody Valentine and White Noise 2: The Light. Back in October Bloody Disgusting exclusively reported that Katee Sackhoff (White Noise 2: The Light, Growl, The Haunting in Georgia) was in talks to star in Riddick for Universal Pictures and director David Twohy. Deadline confirms this evening that talks continue for her to play the female lead opposite Vin Diesel. The "Battlestar Galactica" alumna will play Dahl, a Nordic mercenary tracking Riddick (Diesel). Variety adds that Spanish thesp Jordi Molla - who came close to nabbing the coveted villain role in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek 2 - is taking his sinister sneer to another sci-fi franchise, as he's in negotiations to play the villain opposite Sackhoff in the untitled pic. He would play Santana, a mercenary who heads up an eight-man crew tasked with finding and killing Riddick. Production on the second "Pitch Black" sequel recently resumed after a two-month hiatus while the producers finalized financing.

While production picks back up in Montreal, Bloody Disgusting has been digging for the full cast of David Twohy's Riddick, the third film in the trilogy that will star Vin Diesel and Karl Urban. We have exclusively reported that Andreas Apergis, Katee Sackhoff (White Noise 2: The Light, Growl, The Haunting in Georgia), Bokeem Woodbine (Total Recall, Devil) and WWE wrestler Dave Bautista (The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption) have all been given offers. Add Matthew Nable to the list as "Boss Johns". Apergis would play "Krone", commander of the dark theocracy. Sackhoff would pay "Dahl", a Nordic merc tracking Riddick. We've also learned that there's strong interest in both Cliff Curtis and Holt McCallany as "Santana" and "Vargas", respectively.

The 47-year-old started out as an editor, working on Wes Craven's "Scream" and "Wes Craven's New Nightmare," made the jump to features helmer with "Dracula 2000" starring Gerard Butler, and after a few years of banging out B-movie thrillers ("White Noise: The Light," "My Bloody Valentine 3D"), the director has finally made it to the top of the horror/thriller echelon with his most recent pic, "Drive Angry 3D" starring Nicolas Cage and Amber Heard. Said Farmer of the duo’s scripted take on Clive Barker’s 1987 classic (Lussier is slated to direct), which is set up at The Weinstein Company, “We are in the middle of writing Hellraiser. We’d literally be working on the script tonight, but we are here with you.”
Chimed in Lussier, whose previous fright flicks include My Bloody Valentine 3D, Dracula 2000, and White Noise 2: The Light, “We are into the thick of it, and it’s very exciting.

We have an edgy new clip from the upcoming Nicolas Cage actioner, Drive Angry 3D, where he plays an escapee from Hell determined to find the cult that killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby.
He teams with a waitress that just happens to own a ’69 Charger and is looking for her own redemption. They have three days to avenge the daughter and save the baby before Cage’s character has to go back to Hell. The plot sounds like grindhouse fun but the addition of the 3D detracts from a gritty fun feel that the film could have had. Along with Cage the film also stars Amber Heard, Billy Burke, and William Fichner.

Recently, panic struck horror fans when it was revealed that Christian E. Christiansen was being brought in to direct the Dimension Films reboot of the Clive Barker classic, Hellraiser. Christiansen has a reputation for delivering teen-friendly PG-13 horror films, and if you've seen Hellraiser, you know that this combination would heed devastating results.
Now it turns out that this panic may have been a bit premature. New reports indicate that it will not be Christiansen directing the project, but that the team of writer Todd Farmer and director Patrick Lussier have in fact been signed on to make things happen.
The pair have worked together before on My Bloody Valentine 3D, and have two new projects on the way in Drive Angry and Halloween III. They both also have their fair share of independent works; Farmer has written horror titles like Jason X and The Messengers, and Lussier wrote and...

This decade's Secret Shames are, more often than not, the next decade's Hangover Theater films. It's a decade-long process, really. Movies debut on the screen to terrible reviews, eventually get aired on television cable on a loop, and then viewers inexplicably get caught up in them, revel in their atrociousness, and a consensus begins to form until films once thought to be terrifically heinous can be collectively appreciated on the so-bad-it's good scale. The next thing you know, it's in your DVD collection, and you're waking up on a Saturday morning covered in your own drool and begging your roommate to pop in fucking Joe Dirt because you can't bear anything more intelligent.
Over the years, Secret Shames have been a popular topic on Pajiba -- it takes an intelligent audience, I suppose, to own up to their guilty pleasures without fear of reproach. And as someone familiar with thousands...

Nicolas Cage will be making his first 3-D movie and he's really, really angry about it. The man will play the main character in Drive Angry, a thriller with grindhouse story elements to its storyline.
In the film Cage will play a father who just saw his daughter killed and her baby kidnapped by the movie's villains. For whatever reason it's up to only Cage's character to pursue the bad guys as they speed down a highway, trying to elude their pursuer who is now in a white hot rage to deliver revenge upon them. As the chase intensifies there apparently will be lots of bloody collateral damage as other motorists get caught up in the mayhem and vehicles crash out of control. With a plotline like that it I certainly hope that the filmmakers go all-out and just embrace the crazyness of the concept, and c'mon, if you've seen...

A remake of a Korean movie, the 2008 "Mirrors" follows a security guard (Kiefer Sutherland) at a high-end department store who begins to investigate mysterious deaths occuring in front of the stores' mirrors. He soon discovers that there are murderous reflections out for revenge. "Mirrors" took in $30 million at the domestic box office and another $47 million internationally. In the town of Harmony, don’t expect to be able to hide under the bed and escape from the clutches of the crazed slasher guy. In the town of Harmony, they should know better than to paint a target on themselves by giving the town a name that simply begs for the most appalling tragedy to occur there. From director Patrick Lussier, creator of such classics as White Noise 2: The Light, Dracula 2000, and The Prophecy 3: The Ascent. Something tells me the scariest thing about this is going to be the idea that some promotional copywriter actually believed that “Nothing...

Lionsgate has released a couple of new images from My Bloody Valentine 3-D and MTV has debuted the first clip (which is somewhat spoilerish). Opening January 16, Valentine stars Jensen Ackles, Jaime King, Kerr Smith, Betsey Rue, Megan Boone, Kevin Tighe, Edi Gathegi and Tom Atkins. In the Patrick Lussier (White Noise 2: The Light, Dracula 2000) directed flick, Tom (Ackles) returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine's night massacre that claimed the lives of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, however, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders, and it seems like his old flame (King) is the only one who will believes he's innocent.

As expected, here's the terrible trailer to go along with that awful poster from yesterday. The first (and hopefully only) trailer for My Bloody Valentine 3-D has everything that a horror flop-in-the-making should have: random girls in bikinis, masked villains with deadly weapons, dark scary places, and fake 3D scenes to try and convinces audiences to actually pay to this pile of crap. Really? I've already exhausted all my energy in angry opposition to this movie in my rant on the poster, so I've got nothing left. Special thanks to IGN for premiering this trailer. I rarely say this, but this trailer really is not worth watching. Nathan Fillion has been tapped as the lead on Fox's midseason drama series Drive.
The show, from 20th Century Fox TV and executive producers Tim Minear, Ben Queen and Greg Yaitanes, chronicles an underground race across America.
Fillion will play Alex Tully, a charming, rogue landscaper who is coerced into joining the race to search for his wife who had been abducted.
In the original pilot, the role was played by Ivan Sergei.
Fillion's casting in Drive stems from the talent holding deal the actor inked with Fox and 20th TV in October (HR 10/17).
Fillion, who is friends with Minear, was first approached with the project in the spring but couldn't do the pilot because of a scheduling conflict with the filming of his feature White Noise 2: The Light, slated for release Jan. 5.
"I was a little disappointed because Tim is a friend, and there is nothing better than working with people you know and like," Fillion said.
At a barbecue this summer, after the pilot was shot but before Fox picked it up to series, Minear again floated the idea for Drive to Fillion and showed him the pilot.
