- TriviaAunt Bee admits to Mr. Harmon, the producer, that she likes Rock Hudson. In reality, Frances Bavier co-starred in the 1952 film "Bend of the River" with Rock Hudson and Jimmy Stewart.
- Goofs"Mayberry Goes Hollywood" originally aired January 2, 1961. In the jail cell that Andy and Barney clean hang two calendars (with months and years obscured as usual). One calendar features a month of thirty days with the 1st on a Tuesday, most likely making it November, 1960. Over Andy's shoulder, another calendar hangs. It's only partially seen with the 28th appearing on a Saturday. The closest months to the air date when this would be true would be either November, 1959 or April, 1961.

Mr. Harmon: No, son. I'm afraid it's not that kind of movie.
Opie Taylor: You mean there's another kind?

Spring locks instead of dead bolt locks
I have no real life experience, but I expect most, if not all, jail cell doors have dead bolt locks instead of self locking spring locks. The joke of getting locked in a jail cell because the lock is a self locking spring lock gets pretty old. Were I in charge, the first time that happened, the lock would be changed to a dead bolt.
