Storyline
Did you know
- TriviaThe character of Warren Ferguson (played by Jack Burns) was brought in to replace Barney Fife after Don Knotts left the show. Warren was referred to on occasion as Floyd the barber's nephew. Replacing the classic character of Barney Fife proved to be an impossible task, however. "Warren Ferguson" did not catch on with the viewers, and he was written out of the series after only appearing in 11 episodes. There was no explanation in any episode story line for Warren's departure; he simply stopped appearing.
- GoofsAs Andy, Aunt Bee, and Opie drive away on the bus, Helen is in the front row with others waving goodbye. As the bus drives away (pass the camera) and the crowd reappears, Helen is no longer visible in the crowd of people waving goodbye.

Andy has a black left eye
Just watched this episode again and noticed Andy has something wrong with his left eye...it appears to be swollen and black. Does anyone know how he got his sore eye?? I enjoyed the episode but there is no replacement for Barney. He was a unique character that could never be replaced. I thought it was interesting that although Helen was included in the discussion on what to do with the $1000, there wasn't any decision on whether she should go with them to Hollywood. That certainly wouldn't be the case today. I love all the old episodes of the show when love was slow and easy. My favorite shows are the black and white episodes I think because it's so different from color. I also love the shows when Opie is small, he has a lot of lines at times. I don't know how in the world they got a small child to say all those lines and with such emotion. It's also hard to believe that Ronnie ended up losing all his hair because he sure has a lot of thick hair when he was a kid. Lol!
