In the beginning of this episode, Jedediah is drugged. While he's passed out, he's placed in a woman's room and she runs to the police to say he raped her. Why would she say this and who would put her up to it?
Well, the episode shows Jedediah at his dumbest. Instead of letting Barnaby investigate OR investigating with a witness with him all the time, Jedediah just blunders in...and makes himself look incredibly guilty! It defies common sense for a private detective to be this dumb...a major weakness in the episode. It does get worse...when Jedediah realizes he's now a wanted man and his bail was revoked, he goes on the run in order to keep investigating!
So is it any good? Yes and no. Yes, the idea for the episode is unique and interesting. No, Jedediah behaves just too foolishly to be realistic. As a result, it's a real mixed bag. A bit weak but not terrible.
