The Truce
Lt. Hanley, his squad and partisans rescue a Maquis leader from the German camp. They are hunted down by a German squad and hide in an abandoned mine. When they are found by the Germans, they battle and the mine caves in trapping Lt. Hanley, an American private, the partisan, German Lt. Karl Mauer and a German private. They are forced to have a truce and try to find together a way out. They find a couple of lovers, a German deserter with pneumonia and his French love, inside the mine and team-up to dig a way out.
"Entombed" is another great episode of "Combat!" with a theme used in the Third Season (Episode "Cry in the Ruins"). The conclusion is sad showing the lack of confidence in the enemy. My vote is eight.
