After the roller coaster of the first four episodes, the show now settles in a run of solid but unmemorable episodes.
This one is about two teenagers who marry secretly against their parents wishes and have a baby that dies soon after child birth.The boy, (Bert Brinkerhoff), takes the baby to a doctor's office and leaves it there. He claims he thought it was dead - but why did he take it to the doctor's office. The families, both highly religious, as totally unsympathetic toward the couple. It's strength of the episode that we don't have a fully happy ending: Preston is able to get the boy acquitted but not to make their parents stop condemning them. Not everything has a happy ending in life - or on The Defenders.
