Ok episode with a nice plot, a bit complicated but has some good tension and a bravura shootout at the finale with the assassin. Dempsey and Makepeace are hunting for an assassin who killed a pimp and consequently their partner during a stakeout. Their boss Spiking want them to find the killer but first they need to learn why the pimp was shot, which can lead to the assassin's next target.

A hitman from Miami causes problems for Dempsey and Makepeace.
An undercover officer has been shot dead while checking out a London pimp.
The question is: Why is the hitman targeting a pimp and his prostitute? Just who is the real hit meant to be?
Dempsey needs to make contact with friends in the USA. Spikings discovers that the target is a Bank of England official trying to put an end to Mafia backed casinos in Britain.
This could had been a short episode if only the police took out their guns and fired. Even Dempsey does not have an itchy trigger finger as a baddie jumps out of a window on an upper floor and survives the fall unscathed.
Meanwhile Makepeace discovers that an old school friend is mixed up with drugs and prostitution.
The episode features Eamonn Walker and Amanda Pays. Two actors who made it big in the USA.
