An Officer and a Waldo (#4.7)

Warning: Spoilers
The main story of the episode is about Waldo getting upset because Eddie calls hims stupid and joining the army. Eddie and Urkel then go to rescue him

Very funny. Waldo is a good secondary character. The scene where he kisses Eddie's girlfriend was hilarious and one really does eel bad for him that he was called an idiot by his best friend. So some good acting by Shawn Harrison here.

Eddie and Urkel dealing with the Sergeant was very good as well. Especially when he tries to tell Urkel to call him Sergeant and not Sir. And the scene where Waldo says that he didn't sign any papers and just saw a long line and stood in it almost made me cry from laughing.

Urkel, Waldo, and Eddie Being all they can Be

This episode is another honorable mention, it's another episode of the Chicago Trio getting into hijinks once more. I always like comedy in a military setting which I don't see often, there is always something funny about mixing in comedy in a strictly authoritative setting.

Waldo we see is deeply hurt and does something drastic, I'll admit I actually did feel a little bad for Waldo as what he did was an innocent mistake and Eddie did sort of cross the line when he called him an idiot which even I find offensive. Sure, Waldo may not be the brightest bulb but he does have human feelings that should be respected; so now Steve and Eddie have to rescue him.

But all of that is a set up for all three to be in the army which they all get one heck of a training exercise. It was cool seeing David Gaff in this as I'm a fan of the "Police Academy" films and Tackleberry is one of my favorite characters.

Man, just seeing him and all three actors together I can't help but feel it would have been cool seeing Jabel, Darius, Shawn, and David in a "Police Academy" sequel wouldn't that of been something. David pretty much plays Sgt. Shishka the archetypal Drill Sergeant but he does it well as he does it with exaggeration.

It's just funny how much Steve give Shiska so much unintentional grief however Shishka returns it back hard. Really like the bits of physical comedy from seeing Steve trying to do push up where he can barely get up to two, which is just sad. Or even seeing Steve after a miles long hike he is carrying what looks like the heaviest field pack ever, just one look at him makes me tired.

This episode is a field exercise in hilarity.

Consent for the kissing please ?
richardsonciara2 March 2022
Waldo who is Eddie's best friend thought he told him to kiss his girlfriend and he kissed her without consent but got mad at Eddie for calling him what he was which was an idiot. So Waldo becomes the victim in this episode instead of the girl he kissed without consent. The old days what a time to do something bad then victimize yourself. Horrible episode.
