- TriviaThere are three separate "balloon launches" to obtain weather data: 1. Kommandant Klink serving the volleyball full of helium. 2. Corporal LeBeau releasing the balloons after Sergeant Schultz "surprises" him 3. Sergeant Schultz being tricked into releasing the balloons by Colonel Hogan making him salute Kommandant Klink, who was not there.
- GoofsWhen Col. Klink calls about the weather forecast for his party on Friday night, the barometer forecast was reported to be 29.12 inches. At that reading, there would be a strong rain/snow storm occurring . A more accurate barometer reading would have been 30.12 inches. Also, as Germany was on the Metric system, the report would have been given in millibars, not inches.
- Quotes
Colonel Klink: Of course, you want me to handle it with my usual Klink efficiency, General.
General der Infantrie Albert Burkhalter: No, this time I want it done right.

An enjoyable experience complete with pistachio ice cream
About five minutes into this story it looked like another dull story of Hogan alerting the Allies for a bombing mission. But once we got into the main part of the show, it became a hilarious tale that was an enjoyment to watch.
The Allies ask Hogan's help in getting the weather forecast for a bombing run to a nearby dam. They plan on destroying the dam but will need things such as wind speed and temperature so that the planes can navigate the mountain around the dam. Hogan's plan is to throw a party for Klink with balloons. The balloon will be released and then the wind direction and speed can be monitored and then relayed to the Allies.
But that is only the half of the episode as we get a party, complete with pistachio ice cream, that is laughable from beginning to end. And as always the conversations between Klink and Burkhalter are always some of the best written material. Nice to see the return of comedy to the series. Good watch.
