- Jeff goes on a travelling bus tour sponsored by Ginger's company and gets annoyed with the strict rules; Caroline rides along the same bus trip which will take her to Reno to get a quickie divorce; the Sloans find out about Abe and Gloria's business venture; Al and Anne argue about the baby's name.
- On tour Jeff quickly racks up demerits (a total of 5 gets you kicked off the tour). He receives his first demerit for using profanity on discovering that Arthur gets a private compartment while the others get to sleep in berths, and that Ginger's compartment is right next to Arthur's. Jeff is mistakenly under the impression that Ginger slept with Arthur.
In the meantime, Caroline learns how much ball players make and decides to sink her claws into Jeff however way she can; including switching trains and getting the chaperone drunk. Caroline ends up in Jeff's Berth drinking beer. Jeff gets on Mr. Melon's bad side. But gets back on his good side when Jeff's bad mouthing of Lemo Tomato Juice during a broadcast with Ginger takes the reversed effect. Leaving because he's exceeded allowable demerits, Jeff takes a spill at Mr. Melon's offer of being the only player on the team to work permanently with Ginger on the radio. Ms. Prescott gets drunk and passes out in Arthur's room.
The Davises get caught using the Sloans oven to make cobblers for their restaurant. They lie about why they're baking all that cobbler and get scolded by Ruth along with loosing the money they spent on the ingredients for the cobblers, because Ruth decides to take one of the cobblers to the Kahns. The Sloans find out the Davises are the owners to Rupert's and are furious. They decide to fire them after they've found suitable replacements. Interviews reveal that no one else can replace the Davises and the Sloans decide to let them keep their jobs on condition. On annoucing this to the Davises the Sloans learn that their efforts to find replacements have gotten back to the Davises who were offered more money by other employers when they heard the Davises were to become available. The Sloans were then forced to match the highest offer and keep the Davises without condition.
The Kahns choose a name for the baby, Michael after the Sloan's son.
