- TriviaThe series sponsor Philip Morris is referenced- there is one cigarette left in a pack, which Lucy splits and says 'I'll have Philip....You can have Morris!'
- GoofsWhen the Look photographer is in the Ricardos' apartment taking pictures, he takes one of Lucy standing on the bear she and Ethel have just "shot," and he is about two feet away from her, which means he could only get a shot of Lucy from the waist up. When Lucy shows the cover of the Look magazine to Ricky, after it was published, there is a full view of Lucy and the bear, which would be impossible considering the photographers' closeness to Lucy.
- Alternate versionsIn the first scene of episode #1.08 "Men Are Messy", Lucy makes a reference to the shows sponsor Phillip Morris Cigarettes "You get Phillip, I get Morris." In its 1956 re-run this line was cut from the original negative and discarded. The line has been restored for the DVD release of "I Love Lucy".

Priceless comedy!
This episode presents Lucy as one of the all-time greats in comedy! Her work as the hillbilly slob is hilarious! Just thinking about this episode makes me laugh.
Ricky is messy, and Lucy is fed up. When she learns a photographer is coming by to take pictures of the apartment, she decides to teach Ricky a lesson. It backfires, as usual, but the whole experience is wonderful and I personally believe it to be up there with Vitemeatavegimin and the "chocolate factory" episode in terms of her best work.
