- [Here at the restaurant. Daniel having a conversation with Rosalind]
- Daniel Siegfried: The fact that Leland McKenzie is not here is indicative of my problem. I'm not getting the service I need.
- Rosalind Shays: And just how has our service been inadequate?
- Daniel Siegfried: To begin with, our last three distribution contracts have left us considerably exposed. And for that, I blame you.
- Rosalind Shays: That's very interesting because I blame you.
- Daniel Siegfried: Excuse me?
- Rosalind Shays: Those contracts were all drafted by outside counsel for your subsidiaries, and you didn't let us supervise.
- Daniel Siegfried: So you're gonna blame the other lawyers? That's not very professional.
- Rosalind Shays: You misunderstood. I'm blaming you. You're the one that has hired all those different attorneys.
- Daniel Siegfried: I don't want the same lawyers for everybody, it's not good business practice.
- Rosalind Shays: Well, that's wrong. There is no reason to arm everybody with different attorneys so they can generate fees, and make separate deals with distributors. It's not only counter productive, but it potentially exposes you to anti-trust problems. Now, that makes you look stupid, Mr. Siegfried. Let one firm draft all of your contracts, let one firm represent both you and your subsidiaries.
- Daniel Siegfried: And I suppose this one firm should be McKenzie Brackman?
- Rosalind Shays: I'm not going lie to you. We've had our problems. Maybe Leland McKenzie isn't what used to be, but I will promise you this: if you leave your business here, I will personally take responsibility.
- Daniel Siegfried: And I can be sure you're this good?
- Rosalind Shays: They brought me in here because I'm not good. I make money, Mr. Siegfried. Money for my firm, money for the clients I serve, money for you.
- [Daniel is paused]
- Rosalind Shays: Give me 3 months. If you're not like what you get, you walk away.
- [Daniel Siegfried found out that he see the point]
- Arnie Becker: Hi, Benny.
- [Benny was just to press the button in that machine]
- Arnie Becker: I said hello, Benny.
- Benny Stulwicz: Hello.
- Arnie Becker: Do you want to tell me what's the matter?
- Benny Stulwicz: No.
- Arnie Becker: You're mad at me because I left the firm, aren't you?
- Benny Stulwicz: I'm busy now.
- [Arnie turns off the button of the keypads. But Benny continues to press the button on. Arnie turns off the switch at the left end corner. Benny does it when he turned on. Arnie takes off the plug]
- Arnie Becker: Benny, if you're mad, I think you owe me the courtesy of talking to me about it.
- Benny Stulwicz: You lied.
- Arnie Becker: I didn't really lie to you, Benno, I just tried to put...
- Benny Stulwicz: Yes, you did. You said you and Roxanne were going to the car, and you said you were coming back. That's a lie.
- Arnie Becker: Well, I did that for your own protection, believe it or not. You see, it was important that nobody at the firm know about my leaving and--
- [sighs]
- Arnie Becker: It-- It's kind of hard to explain why, can you just trust me on that?
- Benny Stulwicz: No.
- Arnie Becker: Well, I think you can trust the fact that you and I are friends, Benny, and I would never do anything to hurt you...
- Benny Stulwicz: You went away! And you didn't even say good-bye.
- Arnie Becker: [Benny was mad and got upset and he walks away] What--
- [Arnie doesn't even know what to do]
- Victor Sifuentes: [Victor is back and find out where does Allison going] You're going out?
- Allison Gottlieb: Yeah, I'm having dinner with Melanie.
- Victor Sifuentes: Like that?
- Allison Gottlieb: Like what?
- Victor Sifuentes: You just seem a little dressed up, that's all.
- Allison Gottlieb: It just so happens that this is the first time in 2 weeks that I'm going out on a non rape related activity, and I would like to take off the sack cloth. So what's your point, Victor?
- Victor Sifuentes: There's no point, Honey.
- Allison Gottlieb: No?
- Victor Sifuentes: No.
- Allison Gottlieb: You bastard.
- Victor Sifuentes: Ah, here we go again. Everything I do or say...
- Allison Gottlieb: You think I asked for it, don't you?
- Victor Sifuentes: I do not think you asked for it, I'm just concerned about your safety, Allison.
- Allison Gottlieb: My safety?
- Victor Sifuentes: Yes, your safety. You get dressed up like that, you tract attention, that's not safe.
- Allison Gottlieb: Oh, please. You think I asked for it.
- Victor Sifuentes: I am sick and tired of you and everybody else telling me what I think!
- Allison Gottlieb: Then you say it, Victor! For once, you say what you think.
- Victor Sifuentes: I have said it.
- Allison Gottlieb: I got raped because of something I said? I got raped because of something I did? I got raped because of something I wore?
- [Allison finds something that she wear her clothes]
- Allison Gottlieb: This is what I had on, Victor. Is this what did it?
- Victor Sifuentes: [Allison nearly throws clothes at Victor] Shut up, Allison.
- Allison Gottlieb: This is what did it?
- Victor Sifuentes: [Yelling in the tone of voice] What the hell do you want from me? If I can kill that son of a bitch, I would kill him, okay?
- Allison Gottlieb: That wouldn't change anything.
- Victor Sifuentes: But it would make me feel a whole lot better.
- Allison Gottlieb: Then why don't you do it, Victor? Why don't you wait 'til he gets out of jail, hunt him down and kill him? But just don't act like it's for my benefit.
- Victor Sifuentes: Right. I got it.
- [Allison heads out the door and leave. The door opens, slams. Victor is going wait]
