The trial judge's name changes throughout the episode. When we first meet him, the caption identifies him as "Harrison Taylor". Later, we see that the name on his office door is "Thomas Sommers". In the final scenes, as the verdict is being read, the name plate on his bench reads "Thomas Everton".
The ruse to lure Yoshida back to New York is implausible. Police had already arrested and charged Ito for the murder. There is even a scene in jail where he bargains with prosecutors before implicating Yoshida. The case was high profile , and Ito's arrest for the murder surely would have received extensive media coverage, meaning that Yoshida would be aware of it.
