Series writer Dick Conway put together another fun story about star power... for a few minutes anyway.
Beaver is the proverbial bench warmer at the school football game -- until having the unbelievable, extraordinary luck of catching the golden football that wins the game. HOORAY. Well, it's actually a short hooray, especially when it goes to his head.
Only one question. If you are a long time fan, yes, there was another "hero" episode, all about Beave rescuing a girl in a canoe and all the misinformation in between. Did he learn any lessons? Sometimes you have to file it all under extending a good idea and then some. Both episodes would make a hilarious double feature.
Time for a family talk, which is always the best part and best medicine.
For all of us tv buffs, the series was filmed on the sprawling Universal backlot, which gave the show a lot of room. Some of the best episodes were filmed outdoors on the lot, and in a way, became a super time capsule. Originally filmed at Revue Studios in Studio City (a few miles away), formerly Republic Pictures, later CBS/Radford, the site for more sitcoms and game shows to this day.
Recommended. SEASON 6. Remastered and catch the classic color cover on the dvd box set.
