Rhodamine WT dye was used. Just enough dye was used to create the colour that was needed for shooting. The dye use was supervised by an Environmental Engineer from BC Research and also approved and observed by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. One challenge that faced the use of the dye was the need to produce the colour required by the director while not resulting in any observable impact in the Seymour River.
