- TriviaMurray (Gavin MacLeod) makes a subtle reference to Richard Nixon's impeachment/resignation when talking to Ted (Ted Knight) about the "Teddy" awards. This is significant because at the time network entertainment series went out of their way to avoid political commentary or contemporary issues.

It's Teddy Time
Once again it's time for the Twin Cities Editors Awards (the Teddies). Ted was the winner the year before and is campaigning for this year. Unfortunately, Lou has to tell him he wasn't even nominated. Su Ann was the only WJM personality to get a nomination. Lou is to be given a kind of lifetime achievement award, one that goes to someone who can't chew their food anymore. He is petrified of speeches and freezes when he must accept the award. One great moment in this episode is when Lou has to tell Ted in his office. I can't possibly express the hilarity of Ted's actions in that room.
