The Turning Point
jonniedylanoliver19 May 2020
Every every episode in season 1 had either 2 cringe-inducing plots, or one cringe, one funny. This episode changes what the show could be. This episode instead goes for smart/enjoyable humour, making it a much more likeable sitcom. And Michael changes from a self-righteous boss to a heartwarming friend in the office, even if the workers don't like him back.

When the U.S version really became the U.S version.
ThomasT130414 April 2021
Throughout the first season of the show, it was desperately trying to copy the UK version when it came to the way characters acted (you could see some early Pam, Jim and Dwight scenes in season 1 where their personalities were somewhat defined) but this was the official change. You can really see the characters distance themselves from their British counterparts starting in this episode. Michael really changed starting here. He went from the cocky boss to someone who really cares about his co-workers and that change is evident starting here. The episode itself is one of my favorites, a lot of jokes and awkwardness (The good kind) and you also get some Jim and Pam scenes in here where it is clear they should be together. This is definitely a classic episode.

The Dundies (#2.1)

Warning: Spoilers
It is the night of the Dundies awards.

What can I say, it is a great episode. Only Michael could come up with such awards. Him telling in the beginning of the episode why he does it was too funny. And I loved his singing intro. Drunk am was also fun and I love the chemistry she has with Jim.

The single greatest comedy episode ever!

Warning: Spoilers
I rate The Office as the greatest comedy in television history. This, in my opinion, is the funniest of all the episodes. Pam steals the episode and proves how much one person can make a difference. There is a scene at the end that is comic magic: Pam falls off a stool while Michael is singing, and Dwight tries to take off his shirt and tie to give Pam CPR. Just comedy magic. The kiss Pam gives Jim is incredibly important for the whole series.

The (US) Office comes into its own
jc1305us21 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
When the Office was announced as coming to the US, I thought it would be a disaster. After watching the UK version, I didn't think it could ever measure up. After adapting scripts from the original for the first season, this is where the US office became the classic that it is today.

An absolutely hysterical episode, as Michael gives out his annual awards "The Dundies" bizarre awards that celebrate his staff "Busiest Beaver" which is misspelled on the trophy as "Bushiest Beaver" and "Don't go into the bathroom after him" award that goes to Kevin for stinking up the office bathroom.

The dynamic between Michael and the workers is definitely better and has more heart as this season started. 10/10.

Awkward, Funny, Cute, Romantic

Warning: Spoilers
Michael is so awkward and his jokes are so bad. Pam and the cute guy whose name I forgot make such a cute couple. I loved the scenes right after they come out of Chili's. Pam is so drunk it is funny and when she and the cute guy say goodbye with the beautiful night sky above, it looks romantic. The wind blowing lightly and the vibes were beautiful.

You Always Remember Your First
jdowdell764 June 2021
When the first season of The Office aired I was working a second shift job so I was never able to watch new TV shows but just before Season Two started I had a DVR installed. And it's a good thing I did.

I remember seeing a commercial for the new season starting and even though I knew nothing about the show just seeing Pam Beasley screaming into the camera holding a Dundie made me realize this is something I'd have to watch.

Sure, there are better episodes, funnier episodes, special episodes....but this was my first one and it instantly made me a fan.

Solid episode!
bencarr-9791924 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Start of season 2 feels like a whole new show and this episode was a great way to kick it off. Dundies is an absolute classic of an episode. I feel this one might be slightly overrated but still a great episode nonetheless. I'd say this episode is more fun than funny but it definitely has its moments. Drunk Pam obviously is the best part of the episode. The scene at the end where she falls and Dwight takes his shirt off is probably my favorite part but there's lots of great parts. Wish I could give it more like an 8.5.

I have a character limit to reach so here is an extra sentence thrown in..

The Funny Dundies
ZegMaarJus19 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This Episode begins with Michael, he tells that tonight is The Dundies. The Dundies are a trophy night for the staff of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Jim thinks that Michael is lazy if he uses the joke that Pam and Roy are still not married with each other. Michael opens The Dundies awards with a song. Michael gives the awards to the winners of the evening. Pam gets drunk. Pam kissed Jim. Pam says that this was the best Dundies ever. Amazing Premiere Episode of The Office Season 2, this was so funny. The best Episode so far. I rate this Episode with a 9/10. Really great to watch and funny also!

In first season and even in first episode I've stated that it could be relatable even today. Well, about this episode I can't say the same. It felt outdated, lack of humour, I can even say bad choice for opening season with this type of episode. You can close season but not open. Bad decision, that's all.
