- TriviaTrey Parker long wanted to feature a Grim Reaper-like death character in the series because since his childhood, Parker enjoyed drawing cartoon images of death riding on a tricycle. This was the inspiration behind a scene in which Death inexplicably rides a tricycle while chasing the South Park boys through the streets.
- GoofsBoth Stan and Kyle's mothers are named Carol. However, for the rest of the show's history, Stan's mom is Sharon and Kyle's is Sheila.
- Quotes
John Warsog: [the citizens of South Park are protesting over "Terence and Phillip"] Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is John Warsog. I have prepared a statement on behalf of the network.
[clears throat]
John Warsog: "Fuck you." Thank you, Ladies and Gentlemen. If there are any questions you may direct them to that brick wall over there.
Mrs. Broflovski: Hey! You will not get away with this!
[Warsog drops his pants and moons the citizens before going back inside]
- ConnectionsEdited into South Park: City on the Edge of Forever (1998)
Take this episode: On the one hand, we have the brilliant hypocrisy of the parents who want to cancel Terrence and Philipp for their "toilet humour" while using strange euphemisms for diarrhea (given to them by Kenny) throughout the episode, never once realising it (plus, it's of course a wink at the show itself).
Then we also have the other storyline that involves Stan and his grandpa who wishes to die. It's as tasteless as it is hilarious, especially when grandpa explains what it's like to be old (basically, it's like an Enya song^^)!
I really miss when the show had this subtle meta humour that you could enjoy while at the same time, you could simply enjoy it as a cheap toilet humour show as well. It has de-volved since then.
