"Kon Ducki" is a takeoff on the real-life expedition of Thor Heyerdahl in his vessel the Kon Tiki.
As a director, Plucky wears sneakers and a baseball cap like series producer Steven Spielberg. His hat says "1941," which is the title of one of Spielberg's most infamous flops.
While Plucky is waiting for the wind to pick up, several famous faces sail past. First Gilligan and the Skipper from 'Gilligan's Island,' then Charles Laughton and Clark Gable as Captain Bly and Fletcher Christian from 'Mutiny on the Bounty,' and, finally, Kirk Douglas from '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.'
During the "making of" part of the episode, Plucky mentions two of Steven Spielberg's biggest hits: 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' and 'ET,' as well as the 'Back to the Future' movies which were produced by Speilberg's Amblin Entertainment.
