Terminally ill, young Englishwoman Jennifer Cranley meets dashing American Pilot, Lieutenant Benjamin Blake, whilst convalescing at her parent's house, the pair discuss marriage, the problem is, nobody else can see Benjamin.
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, is this going to be the show's standout episode, I wonder.. it's certainly the best episode I've seen so far.
Let's be honest, it's not a horror, it's a love story with a very unusual twist. The question, is Jennifer psychic, is the illness affecting her, or is she somehow being influenced by heavy medication.
It's incredibly moving and heartfelt at times, almost profoundly so, there are a few scenes that actually gave me chills. Was Ben an actual angel?
Jennifer's relationship with Benjamin is quirky enough, but the one with her parents is even more bizarre, one of those dads who'll do anything, and a mother who's pretty terrifying.
There's a bit of a twist, and a bit of a mystery, the main question of course, is he going to turn up.
A perfectly suitable cast, Moray Watson and Rosemary Leach are perfect as the parents, Judi Bowker is perfect as delicate English Rose Jennifer, and son of Wilfrid Hyde-White, Alex is perfect, pretty striking, again perfect for the part.
8/10.
