Hippocratese and Galen were the two greatest physicians of antiquity and both were Greek. However, Hipocratese was born about 450 BC and Galen was born about 129 AD. While Hippocratese got medicine started as a recognizable profession, Galen's writings established the principles of Western medicine for 1500 years.
