Tensions rise amongst the crew when an unidentified ship attacks Andromeda
Tweekums26 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Shortly after this episode opens Andromeda comes across the wreckage of a High Guard medical ship but before they have chance to investigate further they are attacked by an unidentified ship. Things do not go well as the new crew aren't used to taking orders; Harper freezes when given contradicting orders by Dylan and Beka and Tyr just does his own thing. The early attacks leaves the ship damaged so Dylan decides that they will hide in the corona of the nearby star while they undertake repairs. As tempers and radiation levels rise Dylan tries to persuade them of the need to follow orders; opinions are divided amongst the new crew members as to whether or not to stay on Andromeda.

This was another solid episode. I like the fact that we don't discover anything about the attackers; this made them more menacing and meant little time was wasted in discussing them. The attack was really just an excuse to put the crew under extreme pressure so we can get to know the characters better and establish how they are going to interact in the long term. There is an impressive level of tension throughout the episode and plenty of solid action. After the introduction of Andromeda's physical avatar in the previous episode I was a little surprised not to see her in this instalment; I can't help wondering if the planned broadcast order was changed for some reason. The cast are on good form as their characters continue to become established. Overall a good mix if drama and character development.

Good episode - interested in the series

I have tried to jump into this series before without great success. This time I watched the episodes in sequence and with great joy. Great character development, I hope the rest follows in the same vein. Fun ideas. Not as much graphically visual violence. Good for the soul. Exploration ahoy. 😁

The episode itself is good. Stressors exist to reveal the characters a bit more. I do hope they can break out of their shells/ mold but time will tell. The original premise in episodes 1 and 2 is a bit more fleshed out too. Good follow through ao far.

Also, I do not get the episode synopsis considering what I just saw.

However, like the other reviewer, I really love that we do not know who the bad guys are. Good tactic.
