On the video's home release covers, the title sequence, and the Elmo's World segment's Tickle Me Land scene, Elmo is depicted as Firefighter Elmo, as he is dressed completely in an FDNY firefighting uniform, complete with an FDNY fireman's helmet. However, his uniform is partially incorrect. His jacket and boots are made of glossy patent leather, and his boots nearly come up to knee height. All firefighters' uniforms are always made entirely of comfortable hand-stitched material, and mostly, their boots only come up to ankle height. Only very few fire departments require their firefighters to wear knee-high boots, and the FDNY is not one of them.
On the title card, when Firefighter Elmo is mounted on the the roof of the anthropomorphic firetruck, he rides him out of Ladder Co. 8 (aka the Ghostbusters' firehouse), but he clearly belongs to Engine Co. 58, Ladder Co. 26, given the number 58 on his helmet, and this firehouse has completely different architecture from Ladder Co. 8.
When Elmo kisses the baby, the top of the head of his puppeteer, Kevin Clash, is visible at the bottom right of the screen.
At the end of "Don't You Go Back In", a basketball bounces in the background, despite there being no basketball courts around the scene.
In the segment of Elmo and his firefighter friend, Susan Blake, explaining and demonstrating what to do if there's a fire, Elmo is cross-eyed.
