The German Goddess
E! Mysteries & Scandals: Marlene Dietrich (1999)
Janet Leigh, John David Riva (grandson), Steven Bach (biographer), Annette Tapert (author), Donald Spoto (biographer) and John Springer (publicist) are interviewed about the life and career of Marlene Dietrich.
This episode follows the career of Dietrich who got off to a very hot start and remained that way leading up to WWII when she gave up acting to help in the war cause against her country Germany. From here we learn about her post war career as well as her final years, which she spent alone except for one family member who'd she allow around. If you're a fan of Dietrich then there are some great interviews here that go into great detail about every aspect of her career as well as what she did during World War II. Fans will get a lot of great information, although fans of the series probably won't see enough "drama" from the subject.
