I was really impressed by this film, i've seen it at FIDEC (Film Festival for Schools of Cinema) in Huy, Belgium. The general mood of the film sends the viewer into a world where time is "your best friend" an where countless hours are spent in a factory working. The main character (who looked a bit like Guy Pierce in The Time Machine) is genuine and really pulls off a brilliant role. The sets are fantastic and wonderfully construct the world and the fairy-tale. The music i found haunting and just beautiful and really sets the mood for the story that unfolds. All i can say is that this film is a gem and is really nicely done in the art department as in directing. Kudos to Tom for creating a fantastic tale of human emotion, of love and hope.

One of the best shorts I've ever seen.

I find it puzzling that the review score on this site is only 7; it seems low. Let me explain why. The short film in question is, without a doubt, one of the finest student shorts I've ever come across, and I daresay, it stands among the best shorts overall. Having watched it multiple times, I am captivated by its exceptional qualities-the atmospheric brilliance, the haunting music, the compelling narrative, the skilled actors, and the impeccable style and art direction. It's a cinematic gem that resonates with me on multiple levels.

My admiration for this film dates back to 2006, and it was only in 2012, upon encountering the trailer for Tom's subsequent project, "Death of a Shadow," that I realized he was the same director. Tom van Avermaet possesses a distinctive style that is instantly recognizable, a testament to his unique artistic voice.

I earnestly hope that Tom ventures into creating a feature film, as I am confident it would be a cinematic masterpiece. I am already eager to be the first in line to experience it on the big screen.
