Great Episode
Biography: Jerry Lewis: The Last American Clown (1996)
This episode of Biography takes a look at the career of Jerry Lewis. Well, it takes a look at parts of his career considering he would live another twenty-one years after this was produced so obviously it doesn't take any of that into account.
With that said, this is another very good episode that does a great job at going over the highs and lows of his career. We learn about his childhood, how he got on the stage, the early days of his comic act and of course how he met Dean Martin. From here we get into their rise and fall, his Paramount solo years as well as everything that followed.
If you're not overly familiar with Lewis then you'll really love this as there are plenty of nice interviews including some archival stuff with Lewis. You'll certainly get a great idea of what made Lewis so popular.
